Shore up loyal gamers. If the home office takes a disliking to your point accrual success, you can be locked out of continued play. Made it to 18th in the Global Ranking, then suddenly No Mas! Watching the flood of ads or exercising all of the sidebar games doesn’t help. You’ll lose access to continued play and experience eroding point deductions. Alas. Disappointing to say the least, and at worst, a slap in the face to players loyal to this game. Say it isn’t so, Joe. Nope. It is.

I first chose the app when it appeared to offer a next-step to the Space Invaders archade games. To the developers’ credit, there are lots of ships, skills and achievement levels complete with rewards and trackers to keep a new player occupied through all of the basic and advanced play options. There will be a time however, when (short of spending tons of money) or having exhausted all of the achievement tools, continued play points a player toward the multiplayer (or PvP) option. Those averse to risk, may not wish to bet gold or gems to play but will discover the challenge of a faster paced game that tracks achievement with PvP points. These in turn, are tracked on League and Global Leaderboards as a new measure (over gold, gems and earned items from the Singleplayer play) for tracking progress. The Leaderboards become all the more relevant when you realize that accrued gold, gems and skill chip earnings (for reasons unknown) are periodically cleared from your banks. What will become disheartening to the avid PvP player is how the competition is stacked for this play. Through a mix of both real and programmed competition, the pace may vary: fun when you win but bruising when you take a loss. Whether programmed or arbitrarily applied, losses can (and do) come about unexpectedly against certain opponents and gaslighted internet interruptions. Both cheapen the experience and one has to evaluate the value of continued play against what effectively becomes the house. A note about the Leaderboards. The local Leagues don’t capture anything more than the top 50, which is fine, but it will take time to hit a threshold rithin a League segment; especially as you work your way up to the top global rankings. Another point worth remembering in PvP that there are both real and programmed opponents to challenge your abilities. These matches ar entertaining when the play is on a level playing board but pretty disheartening when wins are arbitrarily executed against you. The Global Leader Board reflects nothing but impossibly invented point leaders at the top and players whose achievements don’t align with win rates. I’ve wondered what drives managing the global board and decided that lack of interest in updating the game (which hasn’t happened since 2020) also drives a lack of making it fair to loyal players of several years. My greatest disappointment is an inability to continue in the Multiplayer mode for lack of ranking and opponents. Blogs would have you believe that it might be due to programming updates, but again, nothing new now for a couple of years and an apparent loss of interest in adding promised features (ships, skins, features in achievement tracking) for some time now. Guess the objective is to squeeze more ad money without a creative programming investnent in this old horse.

I thought I would play this player versus player thing for 50,000 coin. Because the rewards were supposed to be 100,000 coin rewards. So after playing several weeks. I started doing the math. And I wasn’t getting 100 K it was only paying me 70 K per game. So I was being cheated $30,000 a game. Boo on them.
