Pilfer from poets, bargain with bishops and serenade the local simpleton on your hapless quest for absolution. Four Last Things is a point-and-click adventure game made from Renaissance-era paintings. It's kind of like if Monkey Island had been made in 16th century Flanders, by a time-travelling Monty Python fanboy... ***In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw all that he had made, and it was good. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. 'Ooops,' said god, seeing he had created a fool. But before he was able to remedy his error, man spoke; 'No backsies!' he chirped, and scuttled off into the forest.*** Features; -Pointing and Clicking -Renaissance Artwork -Classical Music -Sinful Behaviour -Pie eating contests -Detailed, Interactive Game World -Simple Visual Interface -Friendly, logical puzzles -Nonsense -Piffle -Moments of Surprising Profundity “Four Last Things is an impressive – and impressively funny – adventure that pulls off its Monty Python-esque humor with gusto.” 90/100 – AdventureGamers.com
Almost as good as the PC version
One major error is you can’t click on the top row of paintings or anything at the top of the screen because it will default to bringing down the inventory bar :(
How is it so good?
I have never heard of this guy but I am giggling to myself as I play because the dialogue is so funny. I wish all games had writing as witty and unique. Of course if you love Month Python you will love the art. Any lovers of Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle will also fit right in. Worth every penny
Enjoying this game, but struggling with glitch
I’m enjoying this game a lot, BUT I am struggling with a glitch, and couldn’t go farther. I can’t get him to drink his beer! He was able to fill it up, but I can’t get him to drink it! Help!
Fun Monty Python-ish humor
Short. Quirky. Easy to navigate, straightforward puzzles. There were elements that were never used. Wish there were more to the game but clever while it lasted.
Uniquely brilliant, but still left me wanting
The concept and design are truly one-of-a-kind. There's certainly a lot of humor to be enjoyed but some character interactions are a bit rote and superfluous...some possibilities left on the table. The musical choices are appropriate but they do get under your skin after awhile. I'll echo the call for adding Game Center achievements. I look forward to checking out this dev's other titles.
Not a Godly game
I paid for it but didn’t play it. First 20 words insulted God and I deleted it.
Good game terrible port
Point and click games need to be rethought before taking them to touch devices because there is no way to hover a mouse over point of interest. There’s a button to show touch points but this feels like cheating and has a weird delay so it is at the very least awkward. Furthermore, the art is difficult to see on a phone screen and there is no zoom feature. Most likely, for this to work, the panels would need to be rearranged. Realistically, something like this should be free and only serve as a teaser for the pc game. I paid for it so I was not going to but it a a second time but I also feel like I missed out on a lot of the experience.
