Fleet: The Dice Game is an exciting new strategic roll and write dice game from the creators of Fleet! Fleet: The Dice Game is heavier than many roll and write games and captures the tense, meaningful decisions of Fleet. In Fleet: The Dice Game, you are back in beautiful Ridback Bay to reap its rewards! Fleet: The Dice Game takes place over 10 rounds with each round having two phases, the Boat Phase and the Town Phase. In the boat phase, the active player rolls players plus one boat dice. In turn order, each player selects one die to use immediately. By selecting a boat die, they get to check off the matching boat type on their sheet - unlocking license powers and boat launches to catch fish. The die that remains after all players have selected is then used by all players. In the town phase, you roll town dice equal to players plus one boat die. Again, in turn order each player selects one die to use immediately. In the town phase, you unlock special buildings in the Wharf that grant bonuses, awesome ships in the harbor to earn points and catch more fish, or go to the market and gain income to generate bonus actions. The die that remains after all players have selected is then used by all players. Fishing occurs between phases in the even rounds and the player with the most points at game end wins! Fleet: The Dice Game also features a fully integrated solo mode where you battle Captain Ruth to earn the most points and reap the rewards of Ridback Bay. Current ranking 7.8 on Boardgame Geek.
Great iteration of the actual dice game
The game plays great solo, but it is more fun with others - I just learned that a pass-n-play version is in beta testing, which makes this app even better. But I’m sure most fans are eagerly awaiting for an online multiplayer mode!
Great after figuring out scoring
I’m revising prior reviews because now that I’ve finally figured out how scoring works, and that you can use star actions to mark either sheet (not just the one you’re looking at), I’m getting better scores. I don’t score real high, but it still is very satisfying. I applaud the developer for making this game premium at a fair price with no ads. I also love the design and the way the dice rolls and checking boxes work. And the way AI works (to block you) is excellent, it makes you feel like a human is playing against you, but without the stress of trying to beat an AI’s score. Brilliant. Once I figured out how all the mechanics work, I’m enjoying this game immensely. A good tutorial would have helped. It took playing a lot and reading the rules several times for things to click. I’m glad I stuck with it, because this is an excellent solo game, that plays well and is priced fairly. It could use a little battery optimization, but it’s not too bad. No complaints really. Ignore my prior reviews before things clicked. Thank you developer! This might be my favorite phone game now. Even though I always score as a “deckhand” LOL
Waste of money
There is no tutorial and constant crashing on my iPad make the game unplayable.
App Crashed Every Time
I really want to enjoy this game, and love the first two rounds I make it through each time I try to play it, but the app has crashed every time I’ve tried to play (about 5 or 6 times now). Tried deleting the app and redownloading it, but no luck. It still crashes. Double-checked that my phone was compatible with the app, and it is, so… I’m not sure what else can be done from my end, unfortunately. Hope if there’s an issue with bugs, they’re fixed soon so I can make it through the game, because the game itself seems really fun!!
Lovely game but it keeps crashing.
Like I said in the title I can play for a little while and randomly it just closes.
