Five Card Quest is a tactical role playing game designed to offer lots of challenge and replay value, while also being easy to control with one thumb. There are five cards in your hand, and every card you play is a different move for your team of heroes to carry out. Dungeons and battles are randomly generated, making every game different. Create a party of adventurers out of 5 different character classes, each with their own strengths. Plan out your moves in a game about decisive turn-based combat and working out strategies around uncertainty. If you're very careful and a little lucky, you may be able to defeat the Golden King. You might even get rich in the process. More Features: - Turn based battles let you agonize about each move and/or play it on the subway. - Difficult to win, easy to play. - Card game inspired battle system. You must plan based on what you have in your hand. - Fast paced combat, especially for the genre. Both you and enemies do lots of damage. - 16 different enemy types, all with different movesets and behaviors. This is our first game in the turn based RPG genre. We'd like to make more! Cool, Half-Baked & Buggy
Rocketcat is the best, and this is a really fun, great game. But for a roguelike, it is a little half-baked, no way to upgrade your characters over time. But worse is how buggy this game is. Crashing. Issues with delayed moves not initiating. Enemies attacks skipping a turn so your counter/blocks don’t land. Spell counters don’t follow any rules. Pretty frustrating. I’d be happy if the bugs and rules were cleaned up.
Glitchy after the fourth level
Kept hanging up at the same point in the fourth dungeon. Started over twice with same results
So much potential
And yet so much wasted on cards that don't act the way they're supposed to. That, combined with graphics that glitch sometimes make what could be a great game frustrating enough to rage quit often.
New and Refreshing
4 stars because of lack of updates. It’s a great game that just isn’t finished but the devs seem like they are done with it. It’s fun and unique. I really wish they’d add new character classes. I also wish they would lower gold cost for items at the beginning of the game. Also I ran into a visual glitch bug with a potion heal. Also enemies seem to be a tad off sometimes. They won’t attack when the indicator says it will. Anyway I want more and I hope to see an updated version.
Great, but broken.
I love the game! Unfortunately, there are some game-breaking bugs. They're mostly related to the game crashing during a battle (or sometimes, completely glitching out during battle making it nearly unplayable). After restarting, you've lost all your items and health, etc., with nothing to show for it. This ruins all of your strategy planning for the level and has more than once been the direct and instant cause of my defeat. I would love to return with an updated rating for the game if the battle bug is resolved, because I enjoy playing it up until the inevitable break down.
Grind
The game offers little to no depth. I bought this game once I demolished dream quest and it was listed in the related field. It was the same price but offered 1/100th of the content. Avoid.
Love the art style
I mean, it's a creative idea and I love the art, but I don't fully understand how to play and it seems really basic. I don't like the fact that the game ends when you run from a fight. I prefer games that don't constantly start over. But it's still a solid game with good art and a different take on its genre.
- Tactical Shuffle and Vanish now interrupt across lanes if there's no enemy in the forward lane. - Injury to Insult now shoots the last enemy that was attacked by your party, for extra damage if the last attack was made by an ally rather than the ARcher herself. - Scrollbar added to pre-fight popup enemy list. - If an enemy is at 30% health or under, Mercy range, their health meter will now pulse as an indicator. - Saved games now remember what screen you were last on in the dungeon. - Boon dialog can be closed early by tapping the screen. - Banish now consistently cancels any active attacks on the target enemy. - Mirror Shield nerfs
