Good game but retreated units don't always deactivate.
I had a good game going where units I just forced into retreat didn't deactivate for their turn, which screwed up my entire plans. Bug needs fixing.
Only one real complaint...
The game is great. AI is much better than in “Bulge” game. One complain though - the game will not allow me to play the Soviets. When I try to flip the switch from the default Axis, it simply stops in the middle. When I release it, it flips back to Axis. Is this supposed to be correct? I thought both sides were playable vs. AI...
Please Re-Add this game…
Hi, I love your strategy games so much more than any other on IOS. You used to have an El Alamein strategy game, but when IOS was updated several years back, apparently it was not updated to wrk with the new IOS. The desert war is my favorite theater, and I’m sure I’m not alone. If it’s possible, PLEASE update the El Alamein game and add it again to the store. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
One of my favorites
This may be the best, historically accurate war game for the iPad. Very easy to learn and user friendly, not to mention educational. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is interested in World War Two or military strategy. I wish the developers would release more titles. For example, A game based on the German/Soviet campaign in 1942 (Case Blue) would be great, as would a game based on Market Garden. A man can dream, I suppose. In any case, this is a great game.
Original was a perfect game, but Build 1.08 is buggy.
Fun to play as the Germans, over and over; but the latest version is unstable, with very touchy controls.
So-So
Pro: The game is simple to learn and you can be playing quickly. If you have Bulge you just need to learn the special rules. It is a nice game where you focus on playing it and not working out detailed management. Con: The game depends heavily on special rules. They are really the game, whether Soviet s units are frozen early, mud, frost, trees, roads and German supply. The German army cannot both move and fight which makes for silly situations sometimes. A good German player will win or set up the win in the first five moves and there really is not much the Soviet player can do about it. A novice player will find the Soviets easier to play. If the Soviets survive Oper. Typhoon well enough you have a good contest. It will be a long wait till the counteroffensive. The map is done by areas and it is a puzzle you must solve. It's a decent contest and best played with humans. The computerAI is only good for initial experience but vastly improved over first edition. I like the simplicity of play and find it interesting but not great.
Fun mechanics
First time playing this series, but the playing is smooth and easy to learn. Relies a bit on luck though, and can get somewhat repetitive. Need more varied ai to get 5 stars... As for price, I got it in the sale. 10 is a bit steep though.
