Dice by PCalc, is a physics-based simulation of polyhedral dice for use in tabletop role-playing games with dungeons and/or dragons. Featuring near-photorealistic 3D graphics, it comes with a variety of gorgeous dice sets. Throw multiple dice with advantage or disadvantage, and any given modifier, and the app will automatically calculate the correct total. You can save named presets to quickly roll the attack of your favorite sword, or figure out exactly how much damage your bard took from those seventeen giant rats. Flick dice to fire them across the screen when the numbers don’t go your way. Create custom dice with any text or emoji on the faces, or import your own images, and easily share your dice with friends. Supports split screen, so you can put it alongside your other RPG apps, and speech synthesis that can read out the list of dice and the results. The ideal app for every member of your party!
Pretty nice solo dice, but misleading description.
This APP is great for SOLO rolling. But, does not work for group game play. I purchased the app because it said "easily share your dice with friends." After using the app, it is clear the developeer was talking about sharing custom dice shapes and colors; not sharing dice rolls and play. If the game supported sharing the dice rolls (or app use) amoung multiple users, then it would be a 5 star app. And I really enjoy the customizability and user control over the rolling. Unfortunitly without multiplayer use, I don't see much use for the app for me. If I am going to play in person, then I prefer real dice. I only use virtual dice when playing online and that is best done in an app that shares the dice rolls with the group (or again I can just use real dice). I hope the developer will add multiplayer features.
Best Dice by a Mile
Customizable, fun, and way more powerful than you'd think. Want to tap hotkeys to throw dice one-by-one? Sure. Want a shortcut to throw a specific handful of varied dice with custom faces for a game you invented? No problem. There are also robust sort options to quickly get results for any game or system. Plus you can just tell the fun that was had making this - it's full of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy references and other weird extras. Sometimes you just want to fling a banana at your dice tray, y'know? The only thing that's lacking is the car from the About app. Please update to let me drive through my dice!
Spectacular
New Grimdark mode makes it a joy to use on the tabletop for 40k.
Well worth $2
I've had more than two bucks worth of amusement with this, and haven't even gotten a chance to subject my table to this yet!
Very awkward
Controls are awkward, covering up much of th screen. To change attributes/colors of different dice require settings to be kept open. Dice roll off the screen or into non-viewable areas such as under controls. Takes quite a bit of pouring through very complex settings to get it to be more useful
This is just...wonderful
I love dice. I have loved dice since I was a kid. This app really is the only one that give the feel of tactile dice rolling.
for when you can't flip a real coin
Замечательная случайность! Sometimes more accurate and much safer than trying to flip a real coin, obviously. Also useful for playing craps, farkle, or farfadfausen in zero g, or just serving as a simple and brutally relevant distraction when there's a containment failure. Get the iOS and Watch app, too.
Added a separate window called the “Roll Bar” with a selection of useful controls - if you show this, all the UI in the main window will be hidden. Also known as the “Snell Bar”. Added a separate window to display the results. Like the “Roll Bar”, this can be accessed from the “Window” menu, and is resizable. Added some app icon menu items to quickly roll specific dice, or flip a coin. Added a new dice font, “Vyrantium”. Added “Lock” and “Unlock” commands to the roll functions. Type “Lock 4” for example, to lock all dice with a value of four. You can now use "Duplicates" as an argument for the roll functions, such as “4D6 (Reroll Duplicates)”. Fixed a problem with the Shortcuts support. Fixed a problem with the square dice tray option.
