Stunning detail of levels, in-depth gameplay, finely tuned balance of all levels and turrets. During the game you will hold your defence with your turrets against the massive hordes of enemies. With every level you will have the use of new weapons at your command. It is up to you, commander, how to spend the resources: restore and upgrade your veteran units or to purchase some new ones. Different types of weaponry and landscape provide you with a variety of choices of defence tactics. Choosing the right weapons and the correct placement is key to any successful defence. The weapons have different firepower, rate of fire, firing range, blast radius and price.
Update is a setback.
Upon updating the app, the screen no longer zooms out and the speed up button is insanely fast. How about adding new weapons that give you a fighting chance in hard mode? The algorythm makes it difficult to beat the levels by giving enemy units too much resistance to existing weapons and not enough points with which to upgrade them.`

Paid for the full version but lo and behold I downloaded it to my iphone and i’ve got to put up with advertisements!!!! Getting a refund from Apple, no way i’m putting up with this nonsens. That’s just sleezy and disrespectful of your customer. Put ads in it and make it free, or take the ads out and charge for it, but don’t pretend it is an “in app purchases” kind of deal. Now i won’t buy the other versions, so you lost 3 sales. If you guys want more money for the product then charge it forthrightly. What a “Richard” move.

I love the more complex battle stratgey games like Starcraft, and all the Command & Conquer games, so I gave this game a chance. This game is simpler than the 2 I just mentioned, in that you dont actually build bases, or control infantry units etc, but this game isnt even trying to be that type of experience. The fact that this game is simpler, actually makes it more addiciting in many ways! Failry short battles (under 20-30 minutes pending difficulty) VERY simple to learn, but still strategical enough to be a challenge (especially on hard mode) and SO MUCH FUN! HUGE props to the designer of this game. I love it, its so perfect for times when I don’t have alot of time to get stuck in a major, hour plus-long stressful battle. DEFINATELY going to buy the sequal as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Quite likely the best game I’ve ever played from the App store.

I have Defense zone on my PowerBook (PB) and my iMac. My PB is 5 y/o and my iMac is 3 y/o. Both were the highest end computers at the time of purchase. I can beat this game on my PB, but on my iMac, it is very hard and I am still trying to beat it! I am not sure why. The only difference is my PB isn't as powerful as my iMac and maybe the game is "smarter" being able to process faster! (Duo-Core vs Quad-Core, faster RAM, ext) I've seen advanced programing in games like that before. The faster your computer, the smarter the AI gets. Both games have been upgraded to this current version. Both of my computer are running OS X 10.6.8. Anyway, I like the game, but Defense zone 2 is much better. It is also a very hard game, but I have beat it on both of my Mac computers and my iPad. I rate it 3 for being unbalanced, but I like it anyway! :) Checkout Defense zone 2 & Sentinel 3: Homeworld.
