Stuck on first puzzle
My initial experience was fine. The "Easy" Xword was more challenging than I would have expected, but that's fine. The problem is, once I completed that first puzzle, I could go no farther. One puzzle and that's it? Apparently not but for me, there is no going beyond that firdst one.
Iffy clues
I agree with most reviews I've read - graphics are well done. The puzzles are puzzling. Many clues requiring a multiple word answer give no indication of such. A large number of clues are too esoteric.
so bad
interface isnt horrible, whoever thought of the words/PHRASES is genuinely brain dead though; or atleast i am after doing this moronic puzzle
Good puzzles, nice interface
Haven't run out of the free puzzles yet. Secret keyboard shortcut is return key to switch between across and down.
crossword light
Downloaded it, but it won't open, crashed my MacMini, says its installed but can't find it. Don't waste your time, even if its free.
Have crossword puzzles changed?
Since when is IGETIT a 6 letter word for “Real funny…”??? Last I checked, I GET IT, are 3 separate words. This game is full of this kind of stupidity.
They changed it.
I used to be able to see the numbers in the squares; now I can't without a magnifying glass. Also, your answers now appear in a light grayed-out effect. It was nice to be able to do the NY Times crossword on the computer, but I give up now. I'm not completely blind; my vision isn't the best, but I can read normal type just fine with glasses. This app on my 11" Mac just isn't working for me. There is a "zoom" function, but it only seems to make the app screen wider; the numbers do not become any easier to read. Just too frustrating.
