In the battle to save your people, will you defy the gods? In an ancient world where myth is reality and fate is relentless, your destiny will lead you to secrets no mortal should ever know. "Champion of the Gods" is a thrilling 217,000-word interactive novel by Jonathan Valuckas, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination. As you fight your way through a harsh landscape inspired by Greek myth, you’ll challenge monsters, soldiers, and even gods. Win allies with your humility, your haughtiness, or your powers of deception. Enjoy gifts from the gods, or refuse them all and face the consequences. Will you earn favor from the goddess of love, or make the god of war your protector? Can you escape a watery death without divine intervention? And when you finally learn the truth of your destiny, will you overthrow the ones who made you, or will you become the Champion of the Gods?
It’s good but a few mistakes
I like the game a lot but when I’m reading the game gets confusing. The game will describe the character as a women and a princess but when your talking to them the game says him or he. And the game keeps calling people, “nothing yet” which I assume means the game hasn’t added the name yet.
Hype
Was a very good game, great storyline and really long
Great story, tough choices!
I think this is one of the higher quality CoG games on the App Store. I enjoyed the cast of characters and the mythological setting. I didn't really feel as though my personality traits or abilities came into play that often, but it may have just been hidden well. Definitely recommended if you like story games!
Good game but...
It is a good game it isn't the masterpiece that everyone makes it out to be. There are some things like some choices don't really do anything while others that look like they don't actually matter but they do a lot. It is a good game but in my opinion, it doesn't hold up to other games like Hero's Rise and Choice of Deathless *spoilers* At the end you can save destiny or not, and you really have to want to do either. There is no go between. If you mess up and ruin everything then everyone gets mad at you even if you tried your best. Also the gods seem to mess with your destiny even though it is supposed to be bad. It is also really hard to have faith in the gods as a player when you know that they are jerks. I wanted to be faithful but I knew the truth. It is also really hard to deviate from previous. Good world building but bad way to make your champion develop as a character.
One of the strongest Choice Of offerings.
It's long, well-written and you have a number of important choices that impact the ending. One of Choice Of Game's best.
Awesome
Love this game!
Amazing!
This is by far the best game I have played from the App Store. The writing is enthralling and I can't put it down. The best part is that, depending on your decisions, you will never get the same game twice. 👍👍
