Blood Bowl is the adaptation of the famous Warhammer Fantasy football board game created by Games Workshop. Assemble your team from among 9 fantastic races* in the Warhammer universe (Humans, Orcs, Dwarfs, Skaven, Wood Elves, Chaos, Lizardmen, Dark Elves and Undead). Each race has its own strengths, weaknesses and numerous opportunities to develop which will lend an immense tactical depth to the game. Immerse yourself in single games in Solo Player mode to enjoy fun matches that won’t make your head hurt, or set off to conquer the Blood Bowl in the extensive Campaign mode. Develop your team and players by gaining victories and experience as you progress in the game. In Multiplayer you can compete against a friend on your tablet in “Hotseat” mode, or launch yourself into the vast online world in a massive permanent league where you can create and develop your teams. Play against Blood Bowl players from all over the world thanks to our cross-platform multiplayer modes! *The base game enables you to play Humans and Orcs: the other races are available from the in-game store.
I think it’s good for tablet
Huge bb fan and for what it’s worth you get bb on tablet. The AI feels no different than the pc game which is pretty easy. They have campaigns with superior teams to try to help. Im surprised at the bad reviews. I play single player only so no idea how well the mp is. There are some control issues where I accidentally pass or run or select the wrong square. It doesn’t happen often but occasionally I accidentally do an action I don’t want to.
Absolutely do not buy
There is no option to alter the timer in AI games. You have 40seconds per turn. Impossible to play the game. Not even an expert can play a turn in 40seconds. Totally absurd.
Great game, could use some support
EDIT I don't think the devs were to blame - removing and reinstalling the app resolved my turn timer issue below. Lots of fun on my iPad Pro, hoping they still support the game and release the rest of the teams, and BB2 interface/feature updates. Old review here: I loved iOS Blood Bowl on my iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air recently picked up a 10.5in Pro and for some reason when I restored toe my new device the player turns are locked into 30 second turn clocks. I hope the developers are still supporting the game and can fix it
Can't turn off the turn timer
I'm just trying to learn this complicated game, and the inability to stop the turn timer totally ruins it. Why should I be so rushed in games against the AI? The whole point of using this app, for me, is to take my time and understand the game.
Bad AI, good game.
Like another reviewer wrote, the die rolls seem to favor the AI. AI makes poor tactical decisions only to get good rolls. Kinda makes the whole game pointless dos it not? If the players game decisions are circumvented by unfair dice, why play?
Great Game Poorly Achieved
Major control issues.. especially while trying to disengage from a player and switch to another in certain situations... Lots of anti-Intuitive control issues... and what the heck was the idea with a 40 sec turn clock... I am an expert in the board game and I couldn't do a 40 sec turn with that control interface to save my life... and where is the option hidden to change that... Fix this game!
No 1-player
I loved playing the board game version of BloodBowl as a young man, and this app scratches that nostalgic itch... but only just enough to be absolutely infuriating. I just want to play a single player game against the AI occasionally, since I no longer have friends who play and I don't have the time to get involved in a league. The game offers several single player options, but... The dice rolls are rigged. The kind of double-skull, reroll and get double-skull again kind of rigged. The kind of rigged where you will roll a 1 far more often than 1/6 of the time, just as your computer opponents will roll a 6 far more often than 1/6 of the time. Obviously, it was done to make up for the terrible AI, but there are other ways to have done that without the sadistic random number manipulation (like giving their players extra SPP, starting them with additional money, more fan factor, whatever). And it's grossly overdone- if you want to massage the probabilities, OK... but I should not be rolling skulls literally half the time. Add in clunky controls, no customization options for player appearances, and the occasional bug, and you've got a 1/5. Way to sour me on one of my fondest childhood memories, GW. Way to go.
