I adore this game
After 3 years of playing this game, I can say it scratches a particular RPG itch. The victories are sweet. The random deaths are bitter. It is always possible to start a new game very quickly. One of my favorite ios games. I love the work of Gamestew.
Fun little game
It plays like a board game. I beat it within a day. A bit unbalanced and the difficulty of the “towns” are not in order. I don’t like that there were so many random encounters that could instantly end your game on a bad roll.
One of my go-to phone games
I have played this game so many times. I love the gameplay loop, and how I can set it down at any moment and my character won’t die. I wish they would update the graphics for newer phones though; some if it is a bit blurry now that I’m looking at it on an OLED screen. Also, I would LOVE to see a sequel, or a new game with a similar mechanic. Great work, y’all!
I keep coming back to this game!
For a casual old school RPG adventure game, I cannot recommend this one more highly. The game involves chance and permakills. If that’s not your bag, skip this one. For me, it just makes those rare victories all the sweeter. Game Stew is one of the most unrated dev groups I know. All of their stuff is perfect for ios.
OK but unbalanced
I like the concept of this game and at first really enjoyed it. But then I started experiencing how unbalanced the battles are. There is one enemy in particular (not even a boss) that starts with 9 base attack plus dice rolls. It is nearly impossible to beat him, you’d have to be lucky enough to win the lottery, and he instantly kills you. Try as you might, you can never build your attack stats to a 9 base stat. If there was some kind of bonus when you died, like your stats get stronger each time, it would work. But as it is, I don’t like this game anymore and deleted it, even though I bought all the IAPs. Tower of Fortune is much better, you can actually progress in that one. I don’t recommend this game.
Fantastic game!
Now that I’ve figured out the strategies of this really cool-looking game, I’m hooked for good. In fact this is my favorite game ever now. I read online reviews that really helped as far as learning it (since the tutorial help is minimal), and I figured out the rest by sticking to the main board (instead of entering other areas) until I figured things out and my character got stronger. It’s not hard to learn, you just have to be observant and learn from what happens as you do certain things. If I can do it, anyone can. This is an excellent game. Easy to pop in and out of when you have a few minutes because progress is saved at all times. It’s really addictive, you don’t want to stop playing. You don’t have to buy IAP to progress, but the game is so good I’m going to buy some to support the developers. Plus, there are no ads. I highly recommend this game!
Create a sequel please!
I really enjoyed this game! The gameplay is quite simple like an old roll and move board game but engaging and manages to feel like an adventure. I have almost every title from Game Stew but I always come back to this one. It hits all the right spots for me. I would love to play a sequel to this or even an IAP update with new content or worlds to conquer. Favorite iOS game. Thanks!
