Not enough flexibility.
It’s compatible with the Vitamix Perfect Blend scale, which is nice, but this app is impractical for my needs. I have a 32 ounce french press, but the only options available are for 17, 34 and 51 ounces.

It’s compatible with the Vitamix Perfect Blend scale, which is nice, but this app is impractical for my needs. I have a 32 ounce french press, but the only options available are for 17, 34 and 51 ounces. Do I want to overfill my carafe or make a batch that’s too small? Those are my only choices because I can’t customize the recipe to match my container size. I haven’t even tried to brew coffee with the scale yet, and I probably won’t.
It’s better now
After a little over a year of using this scale, the app completely broke, but who ever is the developer fixed it. Not my favorite scale but it works well
Scale is only as good as the app
Similar to other reviews, the quantities of water (measured by weight via the scale) called for don’t line up with what actually fits in the carafe. If you actually try to follow the instructions, the water enters the spout and overflows once the lid/plunger is placed on top (without plunging). Not sure what would be the best way to fix this, and strikes me as a result of not testing out in the real world the quantities called for in the recipe. While the above is frustrating, it’s not like I don’t know how to make coffee at all (though perhaps I’d hoped for a better coffee making experience), but what’s even more annoying is that it consistently auto-tares when an object is first placed on it while trying to use the scale just as a normal scale. Why? The app already has a tare button, which would be easy enough to press if I need to tare the scale. It feels like a poorly thought out attempt at helping the user when it really just ends up limiting what the scale can do literally—it shows the weight for a split second before auto-taring, meaning this is a software issue that would not take much effort to resolve.
App needs scaling function
This app and scale combo would be greatly improved by adding the ability to enter custom amounts of water and give the ability to scale the recipes accordingly. As it is unless you’re brewing a preset amount (ex. Hourglass settings are only 16, 20, 24, or 28 oz.) you’ll need to do some additional math to get an accurate recommended amount of grounds.
It works...
It works but doesn't allow for any custom programming or the ability to save recipes. I used it for a 34oz French press and the app says to pour 905 grams on the second pour and the press has a Max fill line at 715 grams. If the app had more functionality I'd give it 5 stars.
