They dont remind you and charge your card. If you file dispute, they will say 'well you agreed in this during sign up' . Uninstalled and would not recommend due to lack of proactiveness and transparency

Mealpal gives only $7 to the restaurants. What you receive is $7 value meal from the restaurant and you pay $12-$13 per meal to Mealpal, which means you pay additional $5 for crappy meal.

The app does not have a place for you to stop your membership. So be careful before you enter your credit card information. I have emailed customer service many times requesting my membership to be canceled but no one replied. I have to remember to put my plan on hold once every two months to avoid automated credit card charges.
