where’s the beef
this app was a great money saver for feeding my family when it began with a wide variety of healthy food to choose from. The last several months, the stores around me just have cakes, cookies and donuts. and a few old apples. I’ll keep checking for a few more weeks, but I have a feeling I’ll be deleting this app soon.

I check daily, and it’s always the same stuff. Past prime produce which is photographed so poorly, you can’t tell what it is. Leftovers from bakery, like donuts, danish and pies sell on best by date. If you happen to be a unicorn, you may occasionally find a meat item, but they are snatched up in minutes. And the meat they sell is never anything you would want. I had an issue once picking up a $5.00 produce “box”. It wasn’t in a box, it was in a stapled brown paper bag. Got home and was a completely different mix from the photo. Took about a week to get a credit for my purchase and had to be done online. The retail store will be no help. After the refund, the site asked me if I wanted to participate in a survey for a credit on account of $50.00. I said yes three months ago, and they never got back. They probably knew what I would say.

This app has the potential to be good however I recommend if you use it to be at the store at the time that you purchase to see what exactly is available. Made a purchase for $25 only received about seven or eight dollars in product, three items available although was charged for all seven items. I have emailed Support and have received nothing in a response for over four days. I’d love to leave a better review but at this time all I can say is buyer beware or be present for purchase

I’m sure the usefulness of this depends on your participating store, how they handle both the food and the app. By me it’s been excellent. The one time the thing I ordered couldn’t be found, the refund was instantaneous. Be sure to enable push notifications.

First, I love this app, I love this service! I have food, allergies, and being able to get expensive items at a discount has been so helpful. However, a lot of stores seem to get confused about what “near its sell-by date but still good” means. They are often handing me liquefied, vegetables, and fruit, or meat that is obviously spoiled. When I thought that they were selling meat that was approaching at sell-by date, I was fine with purchasing it. But now they’re trying to pass off food that might’ve been sitting out too long or has a tear in the packaging. so while they can’t sell a package of raw chicken that had it original packaging, torn, they seem to think it’s OK to wrap it up and Saran Wrap wrap and sell it through the Flashfood app.
