Functionality not up to par as other bank apps
There’s very limited things to do with this app. It doesn’t even have a Venmo/Zelle option. It’s too basic for this day in age.
Archaic and rarely updated
This app is straight out of 2007, and FNCU seems to have zero interest in updating it (as I write this review, the last time the app was updated was 9 months ago). Credit card access is poorly integrated - if I click my balance, I get no information unless I find a side menu then find my card. The app also gives incredibly generic feedback when there are errors. For example, mobile deposit says "an error occurred, contact your institution." It's almost like FNCU would prefer you to stop using its mobile app and go right back to 2007 and do all of your banking in person.
Face ID breaks constantly, rough functionality
Every single time I open this app, I'm required to re-enable Face ID. What's the point of even having Face ID functionality if I have to enter my password every time I use the app to re-enable Face ID? This has been an issue with the app for months and FNCU does nothing to address it. The app itself is also very rough. Want to view your credit card detail? Clicking on credit card in the main menu doesn't work. You instead need to use the side menu. This app feels like a bad banking app from about ten years ago, and it really needs work.
Face ID doesn't work correctly
Every single time I use this app I need to re-enable Face ID. Requiring a password to re-enable Face ID every single time one uses the app defeats the entire point of using Face ID in the first place. This is extremely basic functionality but has continually not worked on this app.
Face ID breaks constantly
The functionality of this app is generally reasonable (with the possible exception of credit card functionality, which requires a separate screen). The real challenge with this app is any time the app is updated (and seemingly plenty of times when it is not), Face ID breaks and requires a password. What is the point of enabling Face ID when it's constantly disabled by updates? Other apps handle this successfully - it's frustrating to never be able to actually use Face ID.
Unreliable
Sometimes works and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s frustrating especially when I’m traveling out of State.
