Swiftfin is a fast, native video player that works with Jellyfin, the open source free software media server. To use the app, you must have a Jellyfin server set up and running. Find out more at https://jellyfin.org With a Jellyfin server, you can: - Watch Live TV and recorded shows from your Jellyfin server (additional hardware/services required) - Stream your video to your iOS/iPadOS device - View your collection in an easy to use interface This is an official Jellyfin companion app. Thank you for using Jellyfin!
Thanks Devs!
I love the Jellyfin community! I’ve been using the software for a long time and am really impressed. This app has a clean UI and feels very smooth. Note for other users; this app is in beta. I’d download the main Jellyfin app to get the complete feature set
Does not work
Can't find local server. Update this it's been over a year.
Missing “additional content” feature on Jellyfin
Recently I found that the native client can not load the extra content in jellyfin server, which is named “CD-2” that a part 2 of the total movie. This makes user can watch a full version movies if it was a “CD-1”, “CD-2”, … series. Hope this would be fixed ASAP and I don’t have a GitHub account so I report this issue here.
It’s okay.
Still being worked on - it plays media well! My main complaint is that when I zoom it on mobile to make the video take the whole screen - it makes the captions unreadable at the bottom. They don’t move up to stay in sight :(
freaking awesome for apple tv 4k
i was upset when i contacted apple and asked if jellyfin was available on tvos they said no . but ive used plex before and was just going to deal with the downgrade of using plex again. the first thing i did was search for jellyfin on the chance they were wrong and this app popped up. and i have to say its nearly perfect, the only request i have is to add a shuffle button for watching random episodes within the series . but even without it this app is leaps and bounds better than plex. thank you to the devs .
Still slow to load/no refresh
The app has come a long way, I remember when you couldn’t even watch live TV and kept crashing Would be good if it cached the list (no pictures. Or with an option to cache pictures too to make it faster), so it doesn’t need to constantly try and check the whole server (which takes a long time if the library is big) When you finish an episode, it doesn’t prompt to watch the next one, and if you go to home, the next episode doesn’t appear.. so you got to manually refresh the app and wait for it to load (or go to the series and choose the next episode) Also would be good if the app allowed which media folder to show/not show on home, and an independent live TV tab option instead of having to go to media->live TV (it would help specially on Apple TV as if you want to go to live tv, you have to go media->library and if you want to go back, you need to go to home and wait for the library to sync again) If the app cached the server list and refreshed at home to show the next episode, I would finally stop using the old web based one
Better than official Jellyfin
Unlike the official app the subtitles work well, smooth UX and UI
Some improvements for handling library types, as well as performance when scrolling.
