Solid app, mid monetizing choice
Overall, the app works great, recognizes bricks wells, is very quick, and is very helpful for reassembling minifigs (helped me remake over 150 out of a mess of parts). As of the recent monetization though, my opinion of it has been lowered. The main reason was behind the processing load and money to run it off a server, with the multi scan option taking up the majority of the processing power. Instead of taking down all options and limiting it to 5 images per day for free, it could’ve been limited to the solo scan for free users, and you could pay to access the multi scan. This would still make it accessible for people who would prefer it for free, lower neural networks loads, and still have a monetized option for the people who use it with more parts. I understand the reasoning behind the choice, but its not the best option.

It barely works. Half the time it doesn’t connect, or loses connection while using. Even when the connection isn’t a problem, it only identifies parts correctly about half the time. Definitely in NO WAY worth a laughable $55 a year. Not even worth it for free, since Google Lens and other brickscanning apps are not only more accurate, but MUCH more reliable. And FREE. (Not to mention the fact that the dev pulled a massive “bait and switch” by offering the app for free to let users train his “AI”, then once everyone did enough work for him to make his app functional, he slapped a paywall on it. As far as I’m concerned, it should be illegal to remove core functionality from an app YOU ALREADY OWN. Poor decision, developer. Such little respect for your user base.)

Worked great for so long. Buy a subscription, and now it won’t connect. I could have gotten so much more uploaded tonight if the app I paid a year for worked. I’ll just go back to brickognize.
