Add pre-made roasts!
So, I played roast em when it wasn’t BAD. when I did, I could create my own jokes from pre-made lines. Can you add that back? I would be happy.
Purchased all packs, but no credit
So I just downloaded this app, made my host and myself as guest as a birthday gag for my family (since were all stuck inside for CORONA VIRUS). Guess what?!?! After purchasing the packs (9.99, 4.99, and .99, respectively) through App, each indicated a successful purchase, but nothing credited to my coin bank. What’s more the app keeps offering to give you 10 coins for free if you watch a video. That offer comes JUST AS YOU ARE MAKING A PURCHASE OF COINS. I don’t know if this is a programming issue but.... The time I have taken to type this and the additional time that will be required to go to my Apple account to delete the purchases (that were never credited), has left a bad experience. This app definitely needs work. Otherwise if you aren’t savvy and quick, you’ll just be buying packs and HAVING TO RECORD YOUR OWN JOKES, never having the benefits of professional jokes. How’s that fun or funny? Do better Billy Crystal’s Roast ‘Em app developers. Or, is getting credit for developing this app on your vitae enough? Do.Better. This isn’t ready for consumption yet.
NO EXIT - FREEZES IPHONE 10
Billy Crystal should stick to comedy and not app design. There’s NO EXIT option in the app. Not on a menu. Nowhere. If you try to close the app by swiping up; it won’t go away. App great for authority figures wanting to catch you doing something you’re not supposed to. Had to clear my iPhone RAM to get it off my screen - then promptly deleted the app; however, pressing on the app icon which usually brings up an “X” and a wiggly icon which you can delete, Billy’s app just launches again and off to reboot land you go. Better off using the Settings, Phone Memory Menu deletion for this. Also, if the above problem gets fixed, Billy might want to tell you what the heck this app actually does. What’s the plan here? No, you first have to create two characters before “playing”, letting the app get access to photos, camera and microphone. Then you have Billy mumbling jokes in the background. No security concerns here. Not. This is SO below the man’s talent and ability. Either he’s on really good meds or is surrounded by a whole bunch of sycophants as “app consultants”. I do adore you, Billy Crystal, but fire the app team.
Pay as you go, should call is rent a joke!
Good idea, but right out of the gate ol Billy has his hand out asking for more money..to play a kids game that I already bought. Not too cool, very disappointed.
It could improve
I love Billy and this idea but there is a lot of room for improvements. It’s only a few weeks old so i hope this is only the first version.
The app does not play any sounds on iPad mini
The app does not work on my iPad mini. There is no sound. Updated review: What the app developer is calling the “volume switch” is properly known as the “side switch” on my iPad mini. This is a toggle switch located next to the volume up and down buttons. According to Apple, the purpose of the side switch is to silence audio alerts and notifications. The side switch on my iPad was set in the position to silence audio alerts. Once I set the switch to the opposite position (enabling audio alerts), the sound then worked in the Roast-em app. I’m improving my rating of the app because the developers responded quickly to my issue. I do believe it is a design flaw for the app to look at the setting of the side switch to control in-app sound. The app should look only at the volume up/down buttons and the settings within the app (music volume and sound volume) for controlling in-app sound.
Roast em
Great idea and very funny but crashes all the time!. I have never been able to upload photos to this app, even with the updated version. APP continues to crash very frustrating!
