This King Schools course contains eight individual segments totaling over one hour of video instruction. You'll change takeoffs and landings from a trial to a joy. You'll impress your passengers (and yourself) with flawless takeoffs and landings even in stiff crosswinds. Exciting live-action video puts you in the cockpit, at the controls, giving you the sight picture you need for approaches and flares that will have your wheels softly kissing the ground. You learn how to see at a glance whether you're too high, too low or off to one side and you'll gain the tools you need to put yourself right back on the rail. You'll even learn how to recover gracefully from the rare botched flare or touchdown. When you're done you'll be one of the countless KING students who say, "I learned to land by watching your course." "I was having problems with crosswind landings. I watched the course, and soloed three days later." Paul M. Allen - Lewiston, CA Born from a Passion for Flying King Schools, Inc. is the world's leading producer of aviation training videos and computer software. It was first established in 1974, when John and Martha began flying throughout the country to teach ground school courses. A decade later, they began producing video courses in a spare room of their house. Today, King Schools has over 70 employees operating from an 18,000 sq. ft. complex, housing a dedicated video production and duplication facility. In the past 10 years we have delivered more than 2-1/2 million videos with over 4 million hours of video instruction, teaching up to one-half of the instrument students and over one-third of all pilots in the U.S. obtaining training. We are keenly aware of the importance of the work we do. During the time someone is learning to fly, flying is the most important thing in his or her life. We are privileged to play such a significant role in the lives of such committed individuals. We take pride in producing quality work for these special people.
Love it!
Great content and puts me in such a good mood to be flying with these guys! Nicely done!
Alpha 1
Some good information. Not a lot of new info that my cfi hadn't gone over with me. Lots of visual pointers. Expensive for what you get. I agree with one of the other reviews, in that, there is a lot more to landing and takeoff than what was gone over.
Landings Made Easy!!
I had just below 30 hours left and I had already soloed and passed my written. Then my rental went down for a month and a half. When I got back in I had this new tendency to fly the plane into the ground that I never had before. I was frustrated and my instructor could not figure out why I was doing that. He would give me solutions and I'd find a way to mess it up. After seeing the promo for this I decided to take the chance and it paid off. My first day out after my horrible relapse and my very first landing was a greaser followed by many more. King schools reinstalled the basic mechanics to a good landing and how it starts with approach, round out, flare, and roll out. I am now very satisfied and can't thank King Schools enough for their great course. I guarantee you it is worth the money in new technique. It is worth it's weight in gold. -Tyler Ray Now with 32.5 Hours!!
Good information
I currently am working towards my private pilots licenses with only about 7 hours when I got this app. First and foremost my biggest issue with the entire thing is the cost to quality. The video quality lacks for how much this app costs. I expected hd and got maybe 480x620. The sound is messed up if headphones are used and makes it impossible to use with headphones . Now for the good. The program gives some great insight. That otherwise I have never seen or heard from my cfi. This is the main reason I scored it so high. You can tell that mr.king is a great pilot and a great teacher. With that I feel that some information regarding the handling of the airplane is missing. He makes it look so easy that you feel you can jump into the airplane and know how to do takeoff and landing, even in crosswinds, with ease. Final thought. I feel this is a valuable program. I feel they value it a little bit more than it should be and because of this high cost it keeps me from buying any of their other apps/video series. To get their value i believe the video quality has to be updated.
Great content
The content is great. App can be a little unstable. Couple of things missing: an iPad version, AirPlay support, and soft and short field takeoff and landings. Other than that, the content is really good.
Low resolution good content
Solid content like the rest of courses from KS. Too bad it is only available for the iPhone, the video quality is terrible when played on a iPad.
