Write Swift code directly on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch! This app supports the latest Swift syntax and it is ideal for learning and testing code snippets! Swift is a general-purpose, multi-paradigm, compiled programming language developed by Apple Inc. for iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, Linux, and z/OS. Swift is designed to work with Apple's Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks and the large body of existing Objective-C code written for Apple products. It is built with the open source LLVM compiler framework. Features: - Compile and run your program - View program output or detailed error - Custom keyboard for easy input of frequently used characters - Optimized for connecting with external physical/bluetooth keyboard - Advanced source code editor with syntax highlighting, bracket completion and line numbers - Open, save, import and share Swift files. Supports File Sharing with iTunes Connect, AIrDrop and iCloud. - Language reference Limitations: - Internet connection is required for compilation - Maximum program running time is 20s - Some file system, network and graphics functions may be limited - This is a batch compiler; interactive programs are not supported. For example, if your program provides an input prompt, enter the input in the Input tab prior to compilation.
Works
Works on my iPad and includes a manual!!!
Import still needs fixing
I’m enjoying this app but seems I am stuck only writing new code on this app and would greatly like to import playgrounds from my Mac. There seems to be no way to find them. A better system could be employed.
Inbox needs fixing
I have used your app and it is great.... except when I try to open an imported project it says to move it out of inbox. However, there seems to be no way to do this. Please fix this.
Good but stopped working
Good for practicing swift but app is not working. Says check internet connection. Maybe the server is down. Please fix
Semi Functional
It is useful for learning the basics like assigning values to arrays, indexing, etc. building basic functions. It didn’t however have a random number generator. I tried to shuffle an array using arc4random_uniform() but it wouldn’t let me. I’m still a beginner so it could be user error too.
The ability to import doesn’t seem to work unless I’m missing something...
Hi. I want to really like this app. I’m hope it’s something like Apple’s Playgrounds app for the iPad. Since I been working on code on the go, I was hoping I could work on an existing project with this app. I have a .playgrounds file that I have code in and I tried to import it to your app. I placed the file in the top level of my iCloud drive, and although there is an option in your app to browse the iCloud drive, I don’t see my file or my folders in my iCloud. There’s also the option to browse the iPhone files in your app, but I only see the “Hello World” starter files that came with the app, nothing else, and I don’t know how to access that directory in order to place my existing file and continue to work on it with your app. Maybe your app doesn’t support .playgrounds. Please help me out if you read this. Thanks.
Excellent but limited
Works great, excellent editor. Disappointed you cannot write code for graphics, nor import UIkit. Trying to learn Swift to port my OSX Cocoa apps to IOS. I need graphics and random numbers. Of course I can do it in Xcode on my Macbook Pro, but I did want to do it on my iPad Pro instead.
Fixes a crash when opening files
