Each lesson demonstrates step by step instructions and will inspire weavers to design and create the best possible cloth they can – to care about graphic, colour, hand, and drape – from beginners wondering where to start, to experienced production weavers searching for new horizons. Fantastic source for learning to weave
I’m learning so much through this course. Jane is a wonderful teacher and she gives students all the knowledge and confidence to weave spectacular cloth.
An Absolute Wonder!
This is one of the best-designed online courses I’ve seen on any topic. Each season builds beautifully upon the skills from former lessons.
Weaving school
What an amazing resources. As a new weaver this covers so much detail and is allowing me to learn great habits and skills all in one place.
Warping the loom. Tying onto the front beam.
Jane doesn’t say she’s using a square knot as the final tension knot. BTW , the square knot is the surgical knot. We do it all with instruments. Anyway, Jane goes through the loop , once, twice then tightens. She’s partially right in calling it a surgeons knot by doing it twice. But the other half of the square knot is still done. Left over right , down and under, times two. Right over left down and under, times two. This helps prevent slipping of your knot. A lot of our threads are plastic on the surface. It’s gotta be beautiful and not slip. Because, that’s what the patient sees. Jane ticks all the boxes and does it on line. That’s the sign of an EXCELLENT TEACHER.
