The MOCA Minute™ application is an interactive learning tool that allows physician anesthesiologists certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) to assess their knowledge, fill knowledge gaps and demonstrate proficiency continuously throughout their Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program (MOCA) cycle. Physicians will need their ABA ID number or the email address on file with the ABA to log in to the app for the first time. They will be required to answer 30 multiple-choice questions per calendar quarter (120 per year).
Lost connection
I am getting a repeated message that says “lost connection”

This app was useable until the end of the 1st quarter of 2020. Now, it endlessly tries to download a question and is useless. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it to no avail. Pretty disappointing.

Not sure who made this app or maintains it. It’s not working 4 out of 5 times
Garbage. Hasn’t worked in months.
Typical incompetent ABA. How difficult is it to develop an app-based question bank that actually works? Apparently very difficult. I’m glad I pay $1200/year for this garbage.
Unfair timeout when answer was selected
It’s very unfair that despite having an answer selected that if you allow the timeout to be reached or if you don’t tap submit answer quickly enough then you miss the question and your answer is not submitted. Please fix this - you should at least be allowed to submit the answer that was selected when the timeout is reached! Also, this app is in need of updates and recompiling to be compatible with newer full screen iPhones!
Slow downloads and timeouts for a required activity
Each questions must download. I just spent 90 minutes doing the last 8 questions I needed to complete the quarter for MOCA minute. The consequences of not keeping up with MOCA are real, but the IT department isn’t making it easy to do it.
Lost connection
On two occasions received lost connections to this app which resulted in obtaining either incorrect questions or no questions at all. I see this occurred two years ago and obviously it was not fixed. Led to my MDT value dropping below 0.10 when previous to using the app it was 0.99. Now my board certification is being threatened without consideration of the bugs in the app. This is an unfair process that the ABA should have taken into consideration and warn compliant diplomats like myself prior to performing on this mobile app. Everyone be warned!
This release contains performance and cosmetic enhancements. You should no longer get notifications when you have completed all questions for the quarter. We also added a log out feature.
