What does this app do?
As a product designer, I constantly ask myself these questions: what does this product do? What problem does it solve? And who would benefit from it? I can’t find any of the answers from this app. More importantly, how did this pass Apple’s review?!
Someone fetch John Carter!
This app is silly! It does virtually nothing; shows you virtually nothing! Tap Sunrise, Sunset and it’s blank! Tap Pressure and it’s blank. Temperature always shows -80 to +80 C which isn’t correct at all. You cannot zoom in. Mars rotates with only one or two things identified. You cannot change the speed. The app freezes and crashes. If you don’t have WiFi on when you launch it, it doesn’t work. The Skip button is inoperable. If you have WiFi on, you’re in compass mode, but if you Skip, you are forced to sit through the same journey to Mars—each time! I’m worried about the future of our space program if this is the best Lockheed-Martin can do! No wonder so many Mars missions have failed! Don’t even bother downloading!
Cool idea, missing some things
I am a total Nerd about anything space, and it is awesome to see an app that is a weather app for Gale Crater, Mars! But, it is missing some things, like a clock, I know that a Mars Sol is about 30 minutes longer than an Earth Day, so, it would be cool to see a clock in Mars time, and one in Earth time, so you could compare time zones. Also, if you could (if possible) have a live temperature feed, that would be awesome. Also, the live planetary tracker thing is just pointless, the idea is cool, but, please make it more usable, like, how you could set it up like the real solar system, with the sun in the middle, and how you could zoom in and out of the planets, all in all, it's a cool app, but, it needs more stuff
Nice start
Lot of potential here, but getting long in the tooth...
A beautiful start but needs more content.
A smooth and well designed concept but after about 2 minutes of touching through the weather stats and searching for other features... You're done. I'm sure we've mapped out Mars enough to create a Google Earth style interface where we can zoom in on some terrain features. Real-time! That would be nice. And definitely add more planets. I will keep this App and look forward to the updates.
Added some exciting new features to check out when you reach Mars including Pressure and UV.
