The Eclipse Soundscapes app is a multi-sensory experience for people of all learning styles to engage with astronomical events, including total solar eclipses. Inside this app, you will find countdowns to major astronomical events in your area, and real time narrations of those events with illustrative audio descriptions provided by the GBH National Center for Accessible Media. You can also explore the cosmos with high quality photos, educational information, and accessible learning tools.
Post-eclipse feels
First of all, the concept and design of this app are overwhelmingly outstanding. It was thoughtful, and the descriptions are beautiful and detailed. I got my notification at the start of eclipse, and heard the first message, but either something malfunctioned then or I didn't understand what it was telling me. No rumble map came up at any point, besides the ones that came stock under the tab that previously existed. Even without a map of what was currently happening it was a great boost to the experience for me. I can only hope this is here for us again in the future.
Amazing and informative
I've always been curious about astronomy and meteorology. I experienced the audio descriptions during totality and very much appreciated them. I'm looking forward to future ezplorations! I think my favorite rumble-map feature is the diamond ring. :-D Thanks so much for this project!
Awesome app!
Much more interesting information given than I expected and it's all very nicely arranged - kudos to the Devs for doing such a great job on this -
Really well done!
Lovin' this
Very Good
I like how interactive and easy it is to use.
Plenty of features for sighted people too
Such an educational app! Get it for Monday 8/21/17 as well as future eclipses.
Thank you! ☀️🌕
I am totally blind, when I see apps and project such as this I am totally humbled! Thank you so much for making an event, accessible to me. This is going to allow me to be on the same playing field as my side it peers. Thank you
