e-Sword MEM: Scripture Memory

Love this app! Like 1 previous review said, miss the Scripture memorization function on the Windows version in comparison with the MacOS 1. Very grateful to have found this to use on my iPhone. In reality, I end up it on my iPad Pro as it, compared with E-Sword on the iPhone as well, has more functionality (not that I am complaining 😉). Hopefully, the MacOS version of E-Sword will have a Scripture Memorization function as well as a Prayer Request function in the future. Oh, and do not believe the reviews that say the "serous Bible student" cannot benefit from this. True, when I 1st launched it, I was taken back by the limited # of default verses. However, a 3 second tour of the options menu, makes it clear that you can add "custom verses" via typing or c&p! LOL If there is but 1 thing I would request from the developer, can you make a version of the app for the iPad? With all due respect, I would love to take advantage of the real estate. Or perhaps integrate the Scripture Memorization function into the iPad version of E-Sword? You guys are amazing & have done so much to equip the Saints no matter what. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hello Rick! Thank you for all that you’ve blessed us with... I didn’t know I wouldn’t be able to edit custom entries...only because I’ve copied & pasted verses which include the verse making the first test question irrelevant, since it’s asking for our recollection of the verse address... I wished I read the reviews before purchasing it. The custom verse can’t be edited after you put your entry on. I forgot to type some words on it but when I tried to correct it, it won’t let me. Contacted support and this was the response: “Editing is not available as the memorization would need to begin again anyways. Delete and re-enter. To delete, tap the *menu* button, then tap the "My Memory Verses" menu item. Swipe from right-to-left over the verse you wish to delete, then tap the "Delete" button to do so.” To delete long verses and re-enter again was such a waste of my time especially trying to do it on my iPhone.

The E Sword app is good for Mac and iPhone, so I paid $1 for the memory verse app. But there is a very limited fixed number of verses, some of which I don’t want to memorize. I would suggest two other free Bible verse memory apps...

Don’t have access to all of the verses in the Bible. They make you memorize a certain number at a time (8). Want my dollar back, don’t get this app unless you want to learn random verses the deemed important.

I use e-Sword on an iMac, and missed the memorization tool on the Windows version. This is even better, being on my cell phone, which is portable and with a touchscreen!!!! Much easier than on the computer!!! Genius!
