There are few resources for learning cantonese but this one is good and straight forward. The only thing is i wish is that the pronunciation didn’t sounds so robotic, maybe putting a native speaker. Other than that, an amazing app. thanks !!!

I’m so disappointed because it used to be one of my favorite apps. The speech recognition worked perfectly and only marked as wrong if I was too quiet or mispronounced a tone. However, by the third “basic” unit lesson 2 the lessons became impossible to get through as the speech recognition no longer worked. I would have to repeat a sentence in the exact same way 12-15 times, sometimes marking certain parts of the sentence wrong and sometimes others despite it being said the same, and it would not allow me to skip or turn off speech recognition questions. Unfortunately finally I had to delete the app. It is really upsetting because the structure and learning pace of this was perfect until the flawed speech recognition made it unusable.

So far so good! My Drops annual membership ended and so I wanted to see what free Cantonese language apps are available and was happy to come across this one. I’m having my kids (ages 10 and 8) use this about 15 minutes each day. I like how it teaches the basic words and then layers on short sentences to learn as well as the Chinese characters. Minor suggestion to the developer. If possible please make the text bigger for each new word/phrase that is introduced. This would be especially useful in the iPad version. Thanks!

Pressing the record button crashes the app, and I’m unable to progress pass section three, even though I downloaded all the sections. I wish this app worked, as there are so few free Cantonese language apps.
