Nice app
Very nice app helps me identify my butterflies
Terrible
When my dad was younger, he found a beautiful butterfly and kept it…today I also found one and used this app to identify what it was. However, it stated that it was a confused haploa moth? As my family and I looked up what that looked like, it was completely different to the one that we found. A few minutes later, we discovered by the internet, that it was a Male Eastern Swallowtail. I would not recommend this app for anyone who is looking to discover what type of butterfly they have found.
Not so good
Half of those identified were incorrect. Some calling butterflies, moths.
Inaccurate & Wants Money Money Money
I uploaded a very clear photo of a Pearl Crescent Butterfly (Phyciodes tharos), looking down on its outstretched wings. This app identified it as a hag moth (not even close). The Leps app immediately and correctly identified it (and for free, I might add). bit.ly/PearlCrescentButterfly This app relentlessly hounds you to buy its premium version, which I might consider if it at least gave accurate results, which it doesn’t. I’m all for developers making a profit from their products if their products work properly. This product does not work properly. Why would I pay for a product that doesn’t work properly?
