Strange Experience
Turns out to be fairly bizarre. I tend to use the free version and then buy the pro version if I like it. However as I was checking out the free version, when I went ahead and purchased the pro version, as it was only 99 cents. As I think most of us would do I jumped over the free version and immediately begin using the pro version- by pushing the red ‘upgrade’ button on the free versions app screen. Then scanned my network by pressing the ‘scan’ button. It showed 11 devices found. It turned out a couple were duplicated (id’s). Not a big deal really. But it doesn’t list MAC Addresses* but the IP Addresses which made me think maybe the Mac Address was to be entered or reviled later. So I entered the device name after tapping on the corresponding IP Address. Then as mentioned by earlier reviews, when I entered the second device’s name under the next device listed on the scanned device list, that device name automatically filled itself into the spaces you would think would be for the additional devices as you continue through the remaining devices??? But when I tried to enter the third device, it deleted all but the first devices name and it replaced the second entries’ duplicate names with this third devices name. Which in summary results in the first device retaining the name entered. All other devices will continue to be named the most recent name entered. I swiped the Pro version away and returned to the “free” version. It was still open… each device that it listed was with it’s respective IP addresses. However, their device names were entered without the duplicate entries as you would have expected in the setup of the Pro version. So crossing my fingers and hoping this works, at least until this is fixed in a update!!! It seems in appearance to be the same dashboard for both versions but without the ads…bizzaro!

If you give a name to an IP address in the displayed list, it gives every other IP address in the list the same name. Plus it lists some IP addresses twice. Don’t waste $0.99 cents.

sadly this app was a big disappointment. it supposedly scans your wifi network...but unless you know which IP addresses are your devices off the top of your head, the information is useless. additionally the “edit device nickname” feature (the only thing you can do besides scan), changes the nickname of EVERY device shown in the scan. this app could have potential, but not in its current state. don’t waste your money...planning on demanding a refund for this junk.

I tested the free version and when I assigned a name to an IP the app replicated the name to all of the IPs. The $.99 version said the error was fixed. Don’t believe it. All of the IP are given the same name.
