No Longer Supported
I have used this software for a long time, but it has become unreliable with newver versions of MacOS. It hasn't been updated since 2017, and the developer no longer even lists it as a product on their website. Too bad, it used to be great.
Unreliable
Easy to set up and use, but utterly unreliable. I tried multiple times to sync folders, always to fail. If you’re looking for a solution to sync itty bitty little folders with a few hundred items, this will probably work for you. If you are trying to sync large folders or drives, just forget it.
Works well
Have tried other sync apps that are more complicated. SyncKitPro has some advanced abilities yet it is very intuitive and easy to use. It worked well. Only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is not because of any problems, but likely will do that after I have used it awhile more.
solid but ...
Works really well as long as the number of files and directories is not very large. I used this everyday until I started having 350,000 files in 88,000 folders due to crashing. Solid otherwise. Hopefully the developer will set up some tests and resolve this single issue.
Slow and Unreliable
Incredibly slow over network when processing large number of small files (under 5MB each). Does not recover well from interrupted jobs. Cannot sync Aperture libraries. Does not propagate deletions. Crashes on large jobs. Transverses the entire file list instead of just the files that need to be synced, adding to the slowness. There simply appears to be no robust and fast sync application for OSX at the moment. If there is one, this is not the one. I get the feeling this was made by someone just learing to code. Small details, like the windows sometimes stealing focus and sometimes not, shows a lack of coding experience.
DO NOT BUY - DOES NOT WORK -
WASTE OF MONEY FOR THIS POS - ERRORS THROUGHOUT - I FIXED THE PROBLEMS INDICATED BY THIS APP AND IT STILL WILL NOT SYNCH MY FILES - I WANT MY MONEY BACK FROM THIS POS APP
Worked great the first time
I have been though a number of programs over the years to keep two folders on two different computers on my network synchronized. I figured it was time to see what was out there in the App Store. Synkit seemed to have the least number of negative reviews so I tried it. It worked perfectly! I was able to figure it out pretty quickly, selected two folders with relatively complex subfolder structures, walked though each step to specify what I wanted done, and previewed the upcoming task. It looked good, showing missing files moving in both directions. I hit the "Go" button and within a minute or two I had nearly 2000 files synchronized (about 65 needed to be copied back and forth). It worked great -- and I can schedule automatic sync-runs on a regular basis, though it won't monitor each folder and automatically update the other immediately. I think that's too much to ask for a $9 app. In my opinion, it's well worth the price of admission.
