Instrument Advisor is a mobile application which greatly increases the speed and efficiency of product specification. Built with integrated help text and a unique filtering architecture, the app ensures that products will meet basic specifications before going through the work of building a full model number. The app produces a detailed report that specifies the base model of the product and other information needed to start the specification process. Instrument Advisor also comes with a ‘Take-A-Picture’ feature which allows the user to take picture of existing product for quick replacements.
Lots of potential
Not a bad app, however it is a pretty basic app for specifying instruments. Would be extremely useful it had links to spec sheets and manuals. Even better if it had a tool where you plug in issues/error codes from transmitter and get feedback from the manual or even community input on what the issue is and how to resolve.
Missing some things...
Pretty handy however I think it would be much better if geared more towards the field instrument techs. Engineers and planners have access to a desktop. Links to the most current reference manuals, and the ability to enter (or have the camera on my phone read) the instrument model numbers and have the app decode what each character means would be really helpful. I’m sure y’all can think of some other cool features for the field tech as well.
