To process transactions, you must have a merchant services account with Chase, install the Chase Mobile Checkout app on your mobile device and use a mobile card reader from Chase. In order to pair your mobile device with the reader, it must meet minimum requirements of iOS 10.0 and Bluetooth® 4.0. Businesses are required to complete an application and agree to terms and conditions at the time of enrollment. All businesses are subject to credit approval. Merchant services are provided by Paymentech, LLC (“Chase”), a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.



There is no charge to download this app, but depending on your merchant service account terms, there may be charges associated with the purchase and shipment of the card reader. When using the app, message and data rates may apply. Such charges include, but are not limited to, those from your communications service provider. In addition, all applicable processing fees outlined in the merchant services contract with Chase will be assessed for all transactions initiated through the app.



Transaction processing may be interrupted for various reasons, including service outages affecting your phone, wireless or Internet provider, technology failures, and system capacity limitations.

Several weeks ago, my card reader stopped working. Contacted Chase and they sent me the new "Blue" reader. Comes without instructions, but pretty self explanatory. Charged all day and then paired it the following. First card, wouldn't work. Called support and a half hour later, they determined it was faulty and would send another one. A week later, my neighbor brought it to me since FedEx stupidly brought it them the week before. Same process. Same result. Called support. Same result. Just done. Chase doesn't care how much money I am losing (as they are making more).

Timeout and Pairing Errors

The September 2023 app update caused terrible timeout errors and freezing issues for over a month, that forced us to go cash-only for weeks. Phone support wait times ranged up to 90 minutes and always involves offshore rep transferring to onshore rep where hold times are even longer. Support reps claim they aren’t aware of known issues easily found in these App Store ratings. Timeout errors seem to have reduced after 2 months but the card reader now often disconnects / unpairs from the app in the middle of transactions without warning. Chase setup documentation for pairing a card reader is okay, but there is zero troubleshooting documentation for re-pairing a disconnected reader. Do better Chase!

New update ruined the app

App had been working mediocre at best, but still worked. After their most recent update the app is an absolute pain to use. Super long load times, constantly times out transactions and i have to keep logging in and out in order to run transactions. I’m gonna have to switch to square.

Wasn’t great before, the last update made it horrendous

Often can’t connect to the card reader, randomly times out. It’s virtually unusable.

New update terrible. Slow and glitchy.

Please iron out the bugs on the new version. Old one worked mostly fine. This one is slow to log in and keeps locking up.
