26APR24: Remains the leader of the pack of nonDRM eBook readers. Yomu preserves all notes and highlights, but to open the last location on another iOS device is unreliable, which has dogged this app form the beginning. I find it best to use ‘HandOff’ feature, then commence reading. Buy it and support the developer. =Peace= =============================== 23JUN23: another useful incremental upgrade. Yomu is the epub reader leader at this time. ========================== 14may23. Supported and periodically improved. I’m a bit disappointed PDF support is read only. Notwithstanding, the epub utility of this app is unassailable. Remains at 5stars for developer focus on maintaining this splendid app. =Peace= =============================== Obtaining reads for the many epub/PDF, etc servers provide a treasure trove of inexhaustible material. United StatesDoesn’t have seek options
Doesn’t have seek or navigate to specific page options. It’s a real killer when you’re reading a book that doesn’t have chapters in it. Luckily I found a workaround - vertical scrolling until I found the spot I want, or searching for the last sentence I remember. Also you can’t use any fonts besides the ones that come with the app, and it no longer imports the font embedded in the epub. Pros: good integration with VoiceOver, plus excellent control over formatting. And looks nicer than Bluefire Reader.

United StatesWon't import all of my books
I unsuccessfully tried to import my library books (almost 1000). unfortunately, there is a batch import limit of 300 books at a time. This was not clear until after the app had frozen for several minutes. The app finally told me about the batch limit, before erroring out on most of my books. My books are a combination of epub files and PDFs. I have no idea why some of my books are not readable by this app, especially when they can easily be read by apps such as Calibre?

I have been using this software for number of years now. I find it quite functional and essential to my reading and archiving documents, specially the ones I have generated or produced. Yomu has gone through continuous refinements and becoming more pleasurable to use everyday. One area I have been waiting to be improved is highlighting text. I wish the results would be softer, less garish and easier on the eyes. I find the highlighted text to be unnecessarily intense and too bold, and in this case I prefer Kindle highlights. I’m sure that in future updates, this function will be further refined, and more choices become available like other layout settings. But overall I like Yomu very much and will continue using it over Kindle.

i have not tried all the featues yet, but i truly love having one place to read all my ebooks (in different file types) open as books in one app where i can input titles, authors, etc. to organize and tag them, as well as have covers.

- Image Preview New image preview that supports to zoom in and save images. - Annotation Tabs Filter book annotations to show either all or only notes, highlights and bookmarks. - Document Editor Optimized editor to easier change book metadata with cover picker to select images from Photos or iCloud Drive. - Modal Controllers Information, annotation or image screens are now standard modal controllers that can also be dismissed with gestures. - iCloud Bugfix Fixes an issue where iCloud sync might not work anymore on older operating system versions. - Encoding Issues Workaround for an issue where certain characters are not displayed correctly for some ebook formats. - Google Drive Removed Direct integration with Google Drive has been removed because Google changed their requirements. You still can access your books on Google Drive via their Apple Files app extension.
