HYUNDAI owners beware
If you do not have a compatible Smart Meter and the OVO app has to communicate through the Hyundai BlueLink feature in order to get feedback from the vehicle you will notice significant Battery Drain from the cars 12v system resulting in vehicle becoming completely DEAD! The OVO app is communicating with BlueLink too often waking up the car which in turn puts a huge surge on the 12v battery draining it to an unrecoverable level. OVO need to rectify this Urgently!!
Just a black screen
Just downloaded v2.1.5 into iPad. After login screen the apps just goes black. Unable to go any further and unusable. App works without the issue on iPhone
Great idea let down by the worst app ever
This could be such a great product that attracts EV owners to OVO. But the app is truly horrific. Where is the refresh button to force pull the data from the cars app?? I put my car on charge, it registers in the Kia app. But then on the Charge Anytime app it doesn’t refresh the data for nearly 1hr. So I am paying full price for 1hr of charging before I start to receive discount. I’ll be moving to Octopus at this rate. 4th charge using this app and I’ve already had enough.
Hit and miss
When it works, and communicates as intended with the car’s app, then it is fine. When it doesn’t communicate with car and the car’s app, and requires you to update in app permissions, then insists that you remove and reload the app, or go through multiple steps that are unachievable, then it is an intensely annoying and time consuming obstacle to charging your car. Customer service from OVO is terrible and they don’t respond for days. I’d recommended looking at Octopus first who seem to offer an EV tariff which is time dependent and not dependant on different apps communicating with each other.
Version 2.1.2
This version works perfectly for my compatible car (Kia EV6)
Useless
Does not work with my Mercedes EQE. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, wiping the car data from the app and reinstalling it back on several times, and it just does not communicate with the car at all. The app has no idea whether the car is plugged in or not. The only communication it seems to have with the Mercedes Me app is that bizarrely it continually sets a 50% charging limit which obviously stops the car from charging even when I’ve overridden a forced (non smart) charge. It’s just completely useless and totally counter productive to actually getting any charge into the car. I’ve never had any charging issues with the EQE until I’ve tried using the Ovo app. Since removing the app altogether, the car is charging absolutely fine from home and the fault with the 50% charge limit hasn’t reappeared. If you own a Mercedes, do not bother with this app or with Ovo in general. I’ll be switching provider ASAP because using this app is akin to hiring Diane Abbott as an accountant.
Great if your car compatible
I have a bmw ix3 works great with that. The bmw I 5 is not on the list for sone reason. The only way I get it to work is selecting different BMW from the list. The app connects to my bmw app finds the bmw i5 and works to let me charge. The problem is I have to re add the car every time.
- Update of the project version dependencies - Improvement of timezone handling - Added information page to show to Mercedes users - Minor bug fixing related to account deletion & re-registration data inconsistencies
