Best magazine

The Speccie is, without a doubt, the best magazine available today. And I’m so glad the UK parliament disallowed its sale to foreign interests. Long live freedom of speech and press.

Information about everything

This paper finally backs up what I read in The Australian newspaper. Most other newsprint describes everything from a left of centre approach and many items of minority interest groups only. I am for the majority of views that come across from the ordinary silent majority who are able to access and assess news with a clear and reasoned logic. I do not expect many who have not been taught to think for themselves to understand this. It’s a pity that for the last 50 years or so many of our young people have not been taught correctly and can only blindly follow suggestions on social media. They have very poor ability to analyse as we were taught to do. Let’s hope someone can fill this gap for them. It is wide but hopefully the Spectator and their columnists can put forward to some refreshing ideas to ponder on for many years to come.

App purchases don’t work

Ok. This is a great magazine and I’d like to support it but the link between the app and iTunes account doesn’t work. I’ve subscribed and then the app has locked me out. Been through Apple support and the spectator itself. No help. Fix this !!

Long time subscriber suddenly locked out with no apparent way to get my weekly magazine.

Sad.

The Covid-measure decrying, anti-Left-toothlessness, Israel-loving mag.

One third of the articles bang on endlessly about how draconian the government got during the pandemic, another third the obligatory weekly bang over the head about how the sainted Israelis can do no wrong (even when they do), and the other third whine about the victory of the Left without providing any recipe for correcting the ills it has thrown up (cos that might be TOO Conservative)!

Comments

The app seems to work satisfactorily but why doesn’t the ‘comments section’ appear? I can find no means of turning this feature ON.

Deep England by Douglas Murray.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully written article by Douglas Murray who is one of my favorite authors. He opened my eyes to the changes which have occurred around Berkerley Square in London. He also reminded me of the mystical beauty of the countryside in England and Scotland. To read his descriptive writing was a great joy. James McKeon.
