Type (or paste) text into this app to answer the question "What language is this?". This app identifies the language in which your text is written—for example, English, Greek, or Hungarian.
This app uses a probabilistic model for identifying the natural language in which the given text is written.
★ Identifies many major languages, several of which are not yet supported by translation apps
★ Shows confidence scores for ambiguous text (tap the statistics button)
★ Works offline: An internet connection is not required
Note:
• This app works only with text. Speech or photos will need to be transcribed into text beforehand.
• This app can identify major languages, but there are many, many more languages that it cannot identify. Please use your own good judgment. Coverage will be improved incrementally in future updates.
• Romanized text can be identified for Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Greek, Hindi, Japanese, and Russian
• Input text is limited to 200 characters because longer text does not result in an improvement in identification

I'm not sure what is the algorithm behind identifying, but the identification is wrong. Entered accented, Latin letter and it detected as Japanese. Or a long word that is only German was identified as Thai - Thai doesn't use Latin characters usually. So can't really trust this at this moment. But the idea is awesome and I like it, so can't really bash this horse with 0 stars and demanding a refund or other grap :)
