Latest version stopped working on Chromebook
Latest version is disappointing. Pixelated images, stuttering screen and poor instructions. I get halfway through an article and then have to find a connection to download the rest. The previous version was better. This one is terrible. Update: turning off Allow download while reading helps it to not have to download pages every time. Also disallow using mobile data if using a wifi only tablet helps. It's still terrible though. Often times it has to reload and you have to find page you were on
After the latest update, I opened up the app abroad & everything is gone, no downloaded issues or bookmarks. Everything needs to be redownloaded. Back home, having done this, this new update has glitches. You can't select a page & jump to it as the screen is blank & doesn't load. I have to swipe through the pages. I can only download one issue at a time (before it was multiple), & it then throws you back to the home screen. Too many user journey taps now. Shame, as previous version was better.
I've read FT for years and upgraded to a print and digital subscription, thinking it would be useful to take on holiday. Opened up the app and everything is gone, no downloaded issues - even my bookmarks have disappeared with the removal of the magazines. Worked perfectly fine at home. This also happens when I update the app as well. I'd rather have a pdf copy!
Recent changes to the app render photos in a mild yet discomforting, pixilated state. Makes for a bad reading experience when the visuals are as important as the text. Other changes include having to scroll from page 1 to find the article you were reading, should you have reason to leave the app for any reason. Before this update, you could simply pick up where you left off. Fortean Times is such a great publication, it's a pity its digital representation is now such a let down.
Backwards Step Pictures appear pixalated won't be subscribing to the digital edition any longer if this isn't corrected. Also lost latest 2 issues , cleared cache etc ,just pretty bad and not as good as last app.
