To download Flipster on an older Android device, search Google for "EBSCO Connect - How can I download the Flipster app for older Android devices?" where you can find a document that includes a previous version of the app's APK file to download, or contact your librarian for assistance.
Can't even log in. I select my library and it asks for my Pateon ID/Barcode and after entering it, it takes me to a white page.
Logging in on either device results in: Server Error in /' Application. Runtime Error Description: An exception occurred while processing your request. Additionally, another exception occurred while executing the custom error page for the first exception. The request has been terminated Why isn't it just linked to the one EBSCO login page instead of library-specific
I started using this app on my new Samsung tablet. For reading it seems to work pretty well. However, text to speech reads the text very very quickly with now visible way to slow it down. It becomes unusable for text to speech until they fix it.
This is a follow-up to my January review. After many back and forth emails with EBSCO technical support I have just been told that Flipster is No longer supported on older Android devices. They have now added this info to the download page on Google Play stating Android 8.0 or higher is required. I guess the others who have complained here in the reviews must be also running a lower version number. So, on my functioning tablet with only version 5.1 and no upgrade path, I am out of luck!!
Just ecstatic to not have to pay double digits for great magazines
I have enjoyed this app for years. HOWEVER, I don't know if it is due to an update, but now the app crashes whenever WIFI is turned on for the android tablet that I have always used. Of course, I can't download and read anything without WIFI. If I uninstall and reinstall, all works fine (WIFI on) until I click on a magazine to download. The app then "stops working". Subsequent restarts of the app crashes immediately with WIFI enabled.
As per others - crashes immediately after being opened. No update for couple months - do the providers of this app even care?
