It was in its time the best Subsonic player for Android. Now Android has updated, DSub has not and it no longer works well. It crashes every time I switch to another app. A shame.
I appreciate the hard work that went into this app. I use it every day. Occasionally there are issues pushing buttons on the UI. It becomes unusable and I have to restart the app to make it work again.
Hasn't been updated in 3 years and the design is dated. But, unlike all the other subsonic api clients for Android, it actually works. Chromecast support as well. The one annoyance is that I often have to go offline and then back on for it to see new library content.
Had to uninstall. Was eating up my battery after Android 14 came out.
Please, please, add an option for the app to remember where you left off and resume playback when you restart the app :) Audiobook listeners will love you for it! This could very well apply to any and all sträcks. Also, a "continue listening" tab would be awesome. One click and off you go i your different audiobook adventures :)
*** Abandoneware. AVOID *** Where the hell is the Cache management menu system/button/functionality?! It's the defining feature which supposedly sets DSub apart from other "SubSonic" apps, yet the developer is too lazy to properly code the section which manages it. Why the hell doesn't it sync last played position? Why only give me 20 track search results, where's the rest??? It's not complicated - again just lazy coding.
Works better than other options, but has trouble with some basic things like skipping tracks (often skips 2 instead of 1).
Update to Android 9 target level
Optionally use system default media style notification (on by default)
Fix not being able to use basic server auth with @ in network connection string
Turned DLNA casting off by default since it causes battery drain I have not been able to fix
