Want to wake up more relaxed, in a better mood? I suggest you try this Alarm Clock.
"Personal Sunrise" is a dawn simulator for Android devices. It helps to wake up more easily in the morning, as your body prepares for wakeup due to the increasing light of the display. No more waking up from deep sleep phases.
You can try the app for longer than 2 hours - I will re-fund you without hesitation if you it does not fulfill your needs. You need to have several days to find out. If it does not satisfy you, please drop me a note with your order ID and - may I kindly ask - the reason so that I have a chance to improve the app.
Enhanced features include support of:
the Hue Personal Lighting System from Philips
the FHEM home automation (allows commanding the coffee machine, roller blinds, ...)
Wikipedia says "Dawn simulation is a technique originally developed to help treat seasonal affective disorder, but can be used as a soundless alarm clock to wake up the body naturally. Typically, the treatment involves timing lights in the bedroom to come on gradually, over a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours, before awakening.". WakeLight offers you several configuration options for the light simulation (sequence length, brightness curve, min/max brightness) and the sound (alarm sound, snooze timing and sound) in combination with the comfort of periodic alarm templates (with single-alarm removal), and of course single-alarm times. See the pictures. This app is very handy when you're travelling: take your dawn simulation with you!

It was intended to be used with tablets of at least 7 inches, but I have enough positive feedback of users with even smaller devices to be able to state it can be good to try with such a small device (especially, of course, if you want to use Hue lights). It depends on your light sensitivity, of course, and the brightness of your environment - but you will be astonished as it works subconscious. Just try, I think you will not regret it.
Anyway, using HUE or FHEM the size of the device does not matter any more at all! These systems will handle the simulation.

Good concept but not user friendly. As new user had no idea where to go and what to do. I tried to set it to natural sunrise time but it told me to change a setting (again) but the prompt cut off halfway through directions and I couldn't find the settings. Too many settings for something that should be simple.
My husband likes to sleep in total darkness, but I find it disorienting. Having my own personal sunrise allows me to wake up naturally with minimal disturbance to him. I have my phone angled so it hits my face rather than filling the room with light. The app takes a little figuring out but it's worth it. I wanted a silent, light only, alarm. I couldn't figure out how to do that but was able to change the "sound channel" to "music". I don't have any music on my phone so the alarm is silent :)
Used this for years. I find both the dusk and dawn processes quite useful! The dusk one really does put me to sleep. Updated: there was a problem but works now with Android 12, very helpful!
A great alarm clock that isn't 'alarming.' It wakes you up more gently over a period of time to the soothing colors of a sunrise. It is much nicer than being shocked awake. I never thought there was a better way to wake up but this app made me realize there is. (Update looks like it fixed an issue with alarm templates not populating the upcoming alarms list on my galaxy tab s7 with android 12. I had gotten past the crash by uninstall/reinstall, but only single alarms worked. Now seems 100%)
I have used a Philips sunrise lamp for years and tested all the sunrise apps on Android. I like yours best: it replaces the Philips after I downloaded a bird chorus audio on Youtube. This app has many more settings than the Philips and is by far easier to set up. Alarms on Android sometimes doesn't go off as they are put to sleep by the built-in battery savings routines; this app checks for this very well and fixes it.
