Step into the cockpit of a giant robot in an interstellar civil war! Customize your mecha to duel against enemy pilots with "monosaber" plasma swords. Find glory, disgrace, and even love.
"Mecha Ace" is a thrilling interactive sci-fi novel by Paul Wang, where your choices control the story. The game is entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Who will you be, pilot? Hero, villain, or renegade? Will you lead a unit of elite pilots to victory? Defeat your enemies with skill, cunning, determination, or heavy firepower? Fight for glory, for power, or for an enduring peace?
Puts you in a mecha story
Story doesn't change much, and you can't fight for the good guys. You have to be a dirty rebel
The re-play value is well worth it 👍🏼
Played this multiple times, always a pleasure. Hoping more chapters are added.
Pretty good read. A choose your own adventure style, but your choices don't wildly branch the story off like the old books from back in the day or something like Way of the Samurai. Has more of a mass effect feel. Choices change your stats and your stats have an effect on your choices. Having a non consistent character usually makes you fail a tactic or check down the line. Someone said romance options are confusing, but I don't agree. Just pick good options and keep them alive.
If you're a mecha fan (specially Gundam), this game is for you. There are a bunch of references to tropes of mecha shows and it really puts your I'm the shoes of characters like Amuro Ray.
Love it
