Just like the hexic hd you remember, complete with new original soundtrack by the same composer as the original original soundtrack.
Very good game. Would've liked it if there were more cool sound effects like the original one and why doesn't a combination form when three stars are matched?
One of the only match switch games I enjoyed and made in the style of the old Hexic game from the 360, however I would suggest there be more game modes added to help. The common complaint a lot of people have is with the quick increase in bombs (which I agree). I think there should just be an "Easy, Medium, Hard" selection like the original Hexic had so you can play without being flooded with bombs constantly. Also there should be a time trial mode as well.
Game is pretty great. Definitely scratches that classic HexicHD itch. However, it's a shame that the points tracker uses a 64-bit integer, which is SIGNED, so if you go beyond the points cap, you wrap around into the negatives. This means you'd need to use some very precise math and moves to hit the actual points cap instead of wrapping around. Additionally, the leaderboard rounds your score down to the nearest 1000s place, if your score is over roughly 2^60, which is a tad disappointing.
Fun to pass the time
Loved playing this when I had my zune. I wish they had an optional slide movement instead of the tap. Since it doesn't, it's a little annoying, but I'll just have to get used to it .
Mostly excellent, but sometimes the bombs completely override any other sort of gameplay. If I wanted to just defeat bombs, I would pick another game
