The tale begins as Professor Layton, a true English gentleman and famous archeologist, drives to the remote settlement of St. Mystere with his apprentice, Luke, in response to a request from the widow of a wealthy baron. The baron’s will indicates that the family treasure, the Golden Apple, is hidden somewhere within the village, and whoever finds it will inherit the whole of the Reinhold Estate. The Professor and Luke must search the town for clues leading to the precious heirloom.

The animated cutscenes, remastered in HD, tell key parts of the tale in gorgeous detail. I got this game when it first came out, and playing it on my phone brought back so many good memories! It's fun and works very well for mobile. I can't wait to play the rest!
I was so happy to see the Professor Layton series on here! I have loved these games for years and I am glad to have them back!! Here's hoping Last Specter, Miracle Mask, and Azran Legacy will be available someday because I will absolutely buy those too!!
10/10 A charming experience. Lovable characters and tons of puzzles(so many that at some point you want to skip them to figure out the ending. Lol. A lot of bang for your buck.)

Most of the puzzles and hints are so poorly worded that you need a guide to solve them. I love puzzles and riddles, but these are neither. The explanation of the puzzle says one thing leading you to answer, but the hints lead you to answer the opposite of what the question is asking. 5/7 would not recommend any Layton game.
I would've hated this game as a kid. But now, I Absolutely loved this game. Can't wait to play the other two
