The app is good for checking birds on the go and also has decent, yet some what lacking, sound recordings. What made me give only three stars is that even though species are available in Finnish, the description texts are still not even though the book is available in Finnish. In addition, selling the 3rd edition as an in-app purchase feels wrong.
The app seems to be fine but as I only bought it today I guess time will tell. However there is a feeling of being shafted when opening an app that I have just bought to be told that there is a newer version available if I wish to spend another £7.99. As I said ---' Shafted
Just perfect for the amateur birdwatching enthusiasts.
We need to repay for updates? (3rd edition is an actually update with few added new species, it should be an simple update)
Purchased to identify birds while out with the kids. Other than that I have no interest in birds. Immediately met with a banner to upgrade the app for the same purchase price again to get access to all the birds. Yeah I think no. Luckily I can still refund it so big disappointment from me on this one. Nowhere on the sales page it said this did not include all the birds.
Had this App for many years, where it sat comfortably on the Phones SD Card. Since updating it tells me cannot put on SD Card as not enough space. 40gb used of 128 gb not happy
Natureguides fail to state in the playstore description that this is the old edition app and not the latest 3rd edition which has been available since last year. When you first open the app you will be asked to pay an additional €9.99 to get the 3rd edition 'upgrade'! i.e. If you want the latest edition it is going to cost €24.98 not 14.99. This is misleading and not transparent pricing.
We've improved the text search, filtering and similar species features. We've also added several new songs and calls, fixed some bugs and made numerous illustration and annotation improvements.
