This is the full features premium version of the EV Watchdog App.
Please try the Free version before purchasing and visit the website to see the added features you'll have with this version.
This App accesses the car data through the OBD2 interface to monitor and process a wide range of data from the drive battery, electric motor, energy flow and other.
Live data is then displayed in a convenient way on multiple screens from where you can swipe from one to another (see the screenshots).
Several statistical data are also computed by the App and a full historical log of the trips and of the drive battery condition is maintained.
In order for that to be possible you will need an adapter that will be plugged into the OBD2 port and perform the communications between the App and the Car. You can find many of these adapters online for a very reasonable price. In addition at this moment, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi (that is the communication between the App and the adapter) are supported by the App.
Please check the website to learn more about OBD2 protocol and for a complete list of adapters reported to work with the App.
The EV Watchdog App will run on any Android device with a minimum version of Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) and that has Bluetooth or Wi-Fi available.
If you have your device's location enabled (GPS) this will add location and altitude data, but it is not mandatory in order for the App to work.
At the moment the following EV models are supported by the App:
Hyundai Ioniq Electric (upto 2022)
Hyundai Ioniq 5 (upto 2022)
Hyundai Kona/Kauai Electric (upto 2022)
KIA eNiro (upto 2022)
KIA eSoul (upto 2021)
KIA EV6 (upto 2022)
MG ZS EV (upto 2021)
I have been using vgate icar2 Bluetooth obd adapter for MG ZS EV. Connects to the car, but only retrieves partial information. EV watchdog app version 1.19 oct 2023. I was very interested to see cell map, but unfortunately couldn't get this working. I am using the paid version. Request your help Daniel Santos
I tried this with a 2017 Ioniq EV but the application could not identify the vehicle :-(
Too hard to use, will go back to Torquepro
Cant start app keep giving error
I love that the data files that get logged contain all of the possible attributes, making data analysis in a spreadsheet extremely powerful. Some other ev car scanners only collect the attributes showing on the current screen, not all available attributes for the full trip duration.
This could be a very good app, if only the developer bothered to read our feedback and fixed a glaring issue. The screen with the capacity (battery degradation) , charge % and GOM range information is very innacurate!!!! The battery degradation displayed is correct but is not taken into account to calculate range!!! The range figures are calculated as if the battery was new! My 2016 Kia Soul has 65% of original capacity! At 100% charge the GOM displayed is 160-180 km, instead of 110-120 km!!!
Just fails to connect to obd and crashes
Fixed GPS not reporting correct location/altitude.
