The app automatically checks if there’s an available firmware and, if the user confirms, it proceeds with the update.
Tips / troubleshooting:
- Be sure that the trainer is powered and the blue led is blinking.
- Keep the device close to the trainer to improve the transmission
- Close the all the app using Bluetooth in background (my E-training, Zwift, TrainerRoad, The Sufferfest, etc…)
- If you have problem in the connection, try rebooting the phone/tablet and the trainer. If this doesn’t fix the problem, contact us at [email protected]
Tried to do an update on my direto xr trainer. It did start updating and then it failed at when it got to 4%. Trainer stopped working, contacted support and had to replace my circuit board. I am never using this app again so i would advise DONT use this app to update your trainer.
It worked without any issues for me. Didn't need to turn off Bluetooth on other connected devices as one of the other reviewers suggested. It found my device, quickly downloaded the update, and took a few minutes to apply. My device was 7 versions behind and now up to date. Thanks.
Worked perfectly on my Pixel 6a
The app doesn't find my trainer TUO, I tried on Samsung Galaxy A32 5G and POCO M3 Pro 5G. Instructions I received through mail do not change the situation. Since there is no possibility to update trainer through Windows nor Mac - it's very bad.
If I had known the app for upgrading the smart trainer was as bad as this, I would have purchased the wahoo. This app barely works and even when the device does connect it's continuous network errors when trying to upgrade. Honestly, it's shocking how poor this app is for the price point of the hardware.
Rubbish. Works on phone fine but not on laptop. No option to apply it to laptop. Useless app. Have emailed company but got nothing back 2 weeks later. Appalling
New Direto XR, upgraded firmware immediately. No issues.
