Setup Chase, a checking and a savings. Easy with Plaid to connect. The app went through setup very easy. Afterwards it kept syncing and when finally done the amounts are incorrect. It syncs all the way back to 2022, based on the current balance somewhere the app has the incorrect balance. Just based on this incorrect balance and unable to fix it, I won’t be paying for the app. It has way too many features which is great, but it can’t get simple syncing correct. Also on another note I don’t like not being able to sync CashApp. While it isn’t a bank, it goes through a banks (Wells Fargo and Sutton). I use it for my business so it’s considered as income. To not be able to add it is a shame. For now I can’t recommend this app. It’s too complex to use it manually, which if that’s the case just use a Excel template.

I loved that it was made to run on multiple operating systems in the past, but itn't any longer. I'll have to stop using it soon since I need something that I can use on a Mac and Windows PC
United StatesComparison Monarch v MoneyWiz — Trial for both
This is my second attempt to load MoneyWiz. Last night it refused to allow me into the program so I cancelled the trial. Today, I tried again and it worked without a problem. I used APPLE both times; go figure. I like the screens and reports in MoneyWiz much better than Monarch. They are “clean” and easy to read but this is of no use if I cannot download my accounts — see below. Day 1 - Monarch downloaded all accounts I tried with a couple of PW glitches I had to fix. MoneyWiz will not download my Fidelity accounts; says Plaid can’t do it but Monarch DID download all my accounts sometimes offering me a second aggregator (MX and another) and I can see it all. So far, Monarch =1 MoneyWiz = 0 Paul got back to me and told me Plaid won’t sync with Fidelity. However, Monarch WILL by using something other than Plaid. This was NOT the only account that would not connect. I loved the reports but if I cannot get into all my accounts, what use are they? I took the time to write to for help. No answer. It took several days for Paul to answer. In the meantime, I cancelled the subscription. I was billed anyway for one year anyway. Now I am on the phone with Apple asking for a refund. I was told they would put in a REQUEST for a refund and I am telling them that that is NOT acceptable. Apparently, even though it was supposed to be a ‘trial’ I was billed right away. FRAUD! And, in any case, under US Law I was under the impression that a consumer had a period of time to cancel the purchase. I cancelled; I wrote to the developer telling him that I cancelled because the app won’t work with Fidelity. Apple says it is running a store. Well this customer is not very happy right now.

3/19/24 - Please consider adding "envelopes", or "buckets", for monthly income distribution. Budgets are great for longer term money management, but "envelopes" get me ahead faster, month-to-month. Thank you. ----====---- 9/24/23 - I like using the app, but the promise of syncing I gave up on a long time ago. Even just a CC account will only hold sync temporarily and then require a complete reconnection. I did this over and over, thinking it would eventually get fixed or eliminated. I gave up on reliable and stable syncing several years ago and just the app as a manual ledger for several accounts, it works pretty well at that level. But, as I suspected would happen when "subs" started becoming a thing for software developers, things tend to actually decline in value and expectations, by me, get lower and lower. But, I think I see another developer doing something interesting and after years of using this software and, only getting partial fulfillment, (for $50/yr.), I'm going to go look at somebody else's offering. 3/10/21 - Just out of the blue sync is broken across devices. Yes everything is updated, I've logged out of my MW account and back in on all devices. This just can't happen, not even once. At this point it won't even hold changes I make on one device and as of March 12, 2021 none of my automatic transactions happened, not one.
