Forced connect to Amsterdam, Mail connectivity and website issues
Forcing me to connect to Amsterdam server is not cool. I don't want to represent that I am not connected within US. Glad I never updated on my iPad because I didn't get stripped of feature choosing the US server. Unusable app on my phone for all the reasons above. This is why I always hesitate to take app updates because developers LIE and say an update is for bug fixes ad generic improvements when it is really to strip out features or functions for the user. Fakers.

Proton used to be my go-to on both my Apple devices and my PC, but it’s slipped drastically over time. It was supplanted a few years back with the Apple devices and now that it no longer allows server selection, or even host country selection (which among other things can mean not even being able to read the results from a search engine), without a paid subscription I can’t afford it’s quickly becoming more of a headache than a help. Until that extortionistic policy is reversed one star is being far too generous. In reply to the developer response I wish to add the following: 1. The server change doesn’t guarantee a viable solution given the combination of the unpardonably increasing time delay, the fact that limited time is often a factor and the fact the inexcusable inability to select a specific country and the fact that it does nothing whatsoever to change the original problem. Your server change solution is nothing more than a high-tech slot machine. 2. Didn’t you see the part about “can’t afford?”

This thing is a train wreck. The customer service is just an ad to upgrade, server selection was eliminated, and there are constant breaks in connection where it suddenly can’t connect to the internet and requires a server switch that will take 20 minutes to do again when that one fails too. The blatant extortion attempt and the enraging canned response nobody believes every single time someone complains about the constant plummeting in quality is disgusting. The corporate reassurances are bland, demeaning, and worthless. The paywalling of formerly free features is not a sign of a company that cares, but one that wants more money.

Proton keeps downgrading free service. The iOS and Mac OSX app have had issues auto connecting, but choosing a free server usually works. If it hangs you can choose another server until it connects. This update killed that function and prompts you to pay to do what used to be free.

This used to be a good free vpn with options to choose a country and settings like profiles. Now, it won’t let me choose the server I want to connect and profiles won’t work unless you upgrade. Lots of times, it connects to countries that I don’t want to connect like Romania. This vpn is completely unusable unless you upgrade.

I paid for a two-year subscription, $191. A day later, access to all training records was blocked. They don't make a refund, I can't use the training record. Very big risks when buying a long-term residence permit, I was told that the danger of spam, but I did not have outgoing messages, on the basis of which the decision was made about spam is not clear! The support service is bad, there is no answer. As a result, there is no refund, there is no access to even records.
