Network Notifications
The app is alright and it was working when I first got my router but after an update i don’t know if a bug caused it to stop notifying me whenever a new device connects or when it completes a vulnerability scan like it used to so that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars. Hoping an update in the near future fixes this as it’d be nice to get those kind of update having the armor subscription.
You’re joking with this app
Never in my life have I seen anything so confusing as the Netgear Nighthawk app takes forever to get in when you forgotten your password once you get into you search for an update they take you to a section which you cannot exit. You’re stuck forever in quicksand and look at network connections. It tells you there’s a bridge open, but they don’t tell you how to close the bridge. This is the most confused bunch of software engineers I’ve ever seen by the way. I am eating Netgear products.
Useless.
I can’t even log in. Useless app.
Firmware updates
4/14/24 How about making “update router firmware” a simple button in the app to download and update the firmware without all the manual effort on the part of the CUSTOMER? If it is important enough to mention in every app update, why not make it easy? Also, note all the recent reviews. Mostly negative, relating to firmware updates, ads, and support. If anyone reads these reviews before buying Netgear hardware, why would they ever buy it?
Netgear disabled
Netgear disabled my local router password until I signed up on there server. They send fake traffic spam and dos attacks to make you sign up for there secure armour. I have no idea where they are located. Now they control my router. 🤬😤
HORRENDOUS lack of customer service. Purposeful bugs
HORRENDOUS lack of customer service. Purposeful bugs. Google/research Netgear customer service reviews/support and you will see the run around. Also why are you PUSHING ARMOR when it's TOGGLED OFF? Constant device pop up notifications saying "Armor is on 24/7 here's your report". Ongoing FORCED issue for years with each new router DESPITE DECLINING "OFFER".
Netgear app overrides hardwired
I don’t like that I can no longer access my own R7000 even though it is wired via ethernet cable. And this app doesn’t work as when I first installed it. None of my ethernet connections show now nor any of the wireless connections for my 5 ghz, or my bluetooth devices. This app’s shortsighted developers do not have a provision to report kinks in their app. My iPad keeps telling me to enter my password even though I have entered it correctly. Instead the app wants me to reboot my device and use the factory password. This app fails to work with older Netgear products that don’t have a qr code. I changed my password immediately to alphanumeric letters and wildcard characters.
