Accurate!
I love this app that my grandson found! We now explore nearby sites but off the main drag that offer art, history and more with little or no inconvenience. Love it!
Trying to access
I opened the app and selected region of interest and then nothing. Can’t post for or access anything. Just stuck on opening page. What a bust
It's not just one purchase, FYI
I was looking forward to using this app as we traveled cross-country. After buying it, I learned that I would have to pay extra ($6.99 per region) to access content outside my "home region." It annoyed me that this fee info was not shared up front. I decided to wait and see how the first region went before buying more. The app had good features like site ratings (because there are a lot of "junk" sites in it, that might not be worth driving out of the way for) or the ability to enter a route to see sites along the route. But we ended up not going to look for anything. It seems like part of the joy of travel is what you discover along the way. A field of giant tires is super fun if you discover it, but not if you read about it on an app and go looking for it, just to snap a photo. I realized Roadside American works better for me as a record of sites and not as a plan of where to go. We did not use the app at all.
Numerous
There are so many obscure interesting places and sites to see in this app. Absolutely amazing. Thank you
Best way to travel
This is the best app to make a family road trip wacky fun! Whether it’s the shoe shaped house or Captain Kirk’s future birthplace, the most humdrum trip is so much better with a few mind bending stops.
Fun, but hard to find everything!
I really enjoy the amount of attractions offered, but it’s very difficult to make sure I don’t miss anything interesting. I would LOVE if you would make the map work so that when I scroll around, it shows all the attractions. Having to push the “show attractions in this area” only shows attractions local to the center of the screen, and I miss many. It would also really help to open the app and have the map appear directly. I would also like a search function. If, for example, I want to find all the Bigfoot-themed attractions on the app, there’s no way to do so. :(
Best App for travel
We’ve used this app for years while traveling around the US. We’ve seen so many neat, unique things because of Roadside America. The app is easy to search, the information and pictures about each place make them easy to find. With this app are able to appreciate each location even more. We recommend Roadside America to everyone we talk to about travel.
