Atrocious Customer Service
Hotels.com has awful customer service. any time I have had to contact them with an issue in the past 3 years with a booking or with a hotel listing that was inaccurate (and they are often inaccurate) they refuse to help nor do they address the issue. Years ago they would try and help, but now, if you book with them know that if something goes wrong (not you have something happen stopping you from going, literally the hotel is dishonest or you use a voucher and have any type of issue) know that you will be charged the full amount and the representatives will dismiss all your concerns out of hand with cut and paste responses. Find the rate you want, and then call the hotel directly to book. They’ll match rates and have much, much better customer service.

If you make a mistake, Hotel.com will not help you fix it! They will simply tell you to call the hotel directly and the hotel will just tell you “sorry, since it’s third party, we can not help you”. Waste of money!

The hotel we made our reservations for a two night stay explained that apps like Hotels.com do not have the ability to know if the hotel will actually book you in the same room for your entire stay. Make sure you verify reservation with the hotel.

New checkout in the app is broken, you can’t use PayPal to pay. Then when you switch to classic checkout, it won’t let you log in. So I can’t book and save $5/night by prepaying with PayPal, so this is costing me $20 in extra cost.

Our flight got cancelled so we had to find a quick, one night stay near the airport. This was a great choice. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, great free breakfast. They even had a shuttle that picked us up at the airport and then dropped us off the next morning.
